I'm guess without topping the side branches wouldn't have reached the top to create a canopy. The plant would have looked more like a conifer(Christmas tree).

@PharmaZ,i would say diesel smell is there but the thing is i have 2 cheese strain in the tent, they are so dominant that cover the diesel smell :)
