Lifesaver Once More

labatts_blue First time just growing all one strain. I've been a fan of Lifesaver for years. Hoping for 3-5 plants I planted 8 seeds, 7 sprouted. Thanks for following the ride.

labatts_blue Realized that my pH pen was calibrated incorrectly early in the week.. Plants were looking pretty bad with a variety symptoms. Looking much better now. Transplanted from solo cups to 2 gallon and one 3 gallon smart pots.

labatts_blue They are looking great. Lots of growth this week. Topped them mid-week. Doesn't seem to have slowed them down much. Not sure I can wait until the end of next week to start 12/12 lighting.

labatts_blue Busy week. Defoliated the plants mid-week and flipped the lights to 12/12. Thought maybe I had gone overboard with the defoliation, but after 4 days the tent is overcrowded again.

labatts_blue The stretch is on. One of the plants is male. It was removed from the tent. Six plants is too many for my tent. If I get no more males I will have to sacrifice one of the females.

labatts_blue So I started out planting 8 seeds and 7 germinated. I removed a total of 3 males (2 this week). That leaves me with four girls. All looking healthy, but the tent is still crowded. Plan on defoliating again this week. Humidity may become a problem, especially at night with the lights off.

labatts_blue Defoliated again this week. Got a little carried away. Buds are coming along nicely.

labatts_blue As you can see from the photos, the buds are coming along nicely. According to the breeder these should be done in about another 4 weeks, but I'm skeptical, I'm adjusting the feeding schedule to add 2 weeks.

labatts_blue Raised the lights about 6 inches to see if that helps the leaf clawing some of the plants are having. The buds keep getting bigger and some leaves are starting to get frosty. The smell is wonderful but not too strong.

labatts_blue Coming along steadily. Made some improvements to the humidity but it's still not as low as I'd like. The upper buds on one plant are swollen and almost look like they are growing seeds. See the close up pictures above.

labatts_blue Nothing exciting to report this week. Everything is still chugging along.

labatts_blue The breeder's description say these should be finishing now, but from past experience with this strain and my lights I still have 4 weeks to go. The smell was getting pretty strong outside the tent, so I had to get a new carbon filter. One of the plants is growing a couple of buds on the palm of fan leaves (see pics). I accidentally super-cropped one of the lower colas (see pics). Hopefully it will make it until harvest.

labatts_blue Truckin' on. One of the plant's sugar leaves are starting to turn yellow. Another plant is showing a bit of purple. Considering these are all the same strain it is kind of surprising how much variation there is between individual plants. They smell wonderful!

labatts_blue Well shit. One of my large colas has bud rot. I cut off the offending cola and disposed of it. As a precaution I harvested the rest of the branch it was on and the other large colas on the plant. I am on the fence about harvesting more or trying to get the rest of the plants to full maturity.

labatts_blue Well harvest time is almost here. There are some amber trichs (see picture) and the plants sure look ready.

labatts_blue I am very happy with this grow. No major problems and the best yield I've ever had. Can't wait for it to fully cure.
