TriCityGrower Week 1 – Purple Kush (Kannabia Seeds) Grower: 3CG --- Introduction Alright, here we go. First diary on GrowDiaries – but trust me, not my first rodeo. I’ve been playing with plants for a while and I keep coming back to coco. My setup is small – a 60×40×120 cm tent with a GOAT LED 200W (Polish build, shouts to the local scene), a carbon filter, and fans to keep things breathing. It’s personal, only for my medical use, and just enough space to keep me learning. Even with this tiny tent I like to experiment. One time I ran six different strains in one run, all 12/12 straight from seed. Looked like a cannabis version of Eurovision – every plant doing its own thing, fighting for the spotlight. Didn’t win any points for uniformity, but damn, this 12/12 grow was so much fun. And yes, outside the tent I live in a zoo. Two cats, two dogs. Somehow they live in a peace. Sometimes they chase each other, sometimes they nap together, but mostly they’re chaos wrapped in cuteness. They’ll probably crash this diary too, so get used to it. --- Few Words On Growth Scales (BBCH / Zadoks) Before I get into the diary entry, let me explain how I’ll describe growth stages here. Besides writing which week of growth we’re in, I’ll also use the BBCH scale (also known as Zadoks scale). It’s a standardized way to describe plant development, used in agronomy to keep things precise. Cannabis, like cereals or other crops, goes through clear phases. In BBCH every stage has a two-digit code: the first digit = main stage, the second digit = secondary stage inside it. Here’s a simplified outline I’ll use for cannabis: 00–09: Germination (seed imbibition, radicle emergence, seedling) 10–19: Leaf development (cotyledons, first true leaves, subsequent nodes) 20–29: Side shoot development (branching) 30–39: Stem elongation (vertical growth, internodes) 50–59: Inflorescence emergence (pre-flower, sexing, stretch) 60–69: Flowering (early pistils, setting buds) 70–79: Fruit development (buds swelling, resin production) 80–89: Ripening (trichomes maturing, pistils browning) 90–99: Senescence (late fade, harvest maturity) I’ll mark the BBCH code each week, so the diary is not just a timeline but also agronomically precise. --- Diary Entry – Week 1 (Seedling stage, BBCH 09–10) Dropped two Purple Kush beans. Germination was textbook – 24h soak, then into paper towel, both popped a nice taproot. Transplanted into buffered coco/perlite (70/30). Then… tragedy. My young cat Fela decided she’s a guerrilla gardener. She snatched one sprout right out of the pot and disappeared. Never found it again – probably buried in some secret feline grow-op. RIP little one. The second seedling made it, even though Fela tried another ninja strike later. Since my Durban Poison is still hogging the tent, Purple Kush is spending her first week outside. Sun, wind, rain vibes – natural hardening before she moves under the LED. A bit risky, but good training. --- Key Notes: Seeds: 2/2 germinated. One stolen by Fela (future prime suspect in plant crimes). Surviving seedling steady and green. Outdoor start until the Durban clears the box. Medium: 70% coco, 30% perlite, buffered with Ca/Mg. Tent: 60×40×120, GOAT LED 200W, carbon filter, fans. Household: 2 cats, 2 dogs, zero discipline but high entertainment value. Week one is done – nothing crazy yet, just baby learning how to be plant. pH is on its best behavior- 5.8, coco’s acting cool. Let’s call it a win.
