Depends on water capacity... e.g. in coco you can re-irrigate when top is still moist or just starting to change colors, while a heavy soil you want to wait for top 1" to dry.
You are likely closer to the 1" 'standard' than coco, i'd wager. Just make sure it doesn't wilt. If you have growth on top of soil, that's a sign you should allow more dryback to occur.
Fully saturated is a lot of water weight. Water-weight is also an excellent observation to use to trigger an irrigation. If you do so at same loss of weight, it'll require a very similar volume of water to accomplish the task.
if you have any issues with the dryback you choose, wait longer...
