Lowbuds Hey everyone, starting my Black Opium Auto grow for the Divine Seeds 2025 Global Autoflowering Competition!
I’m running her in a 22L pot that I repurposed — it was originally meant for an outdoor run but now it’s coming indoors. Since my main grow tent is already busy, I’m using a cheap eBay lamp setup as a kind of budget side project.
For germination, I’m using the classic paper towel method, spraying the towel with water mixed with a bit of H₂O₂ to help boost germination and keep things clean. Once sprouted, she’ll go into soil reused from a previous run, boosted with worm humus, Root Complex, and Power Zyme — aiming for a healthy root zone without breaking the bank.
I’ll be doing full-on low-stress training (LST) to spread out the canopy and get the best light coverage possible.
I’m really curious about this strain — excited to see how she performs in my setup.
What I’m aiming for:
• Keep it simple and affordable with a decent pot size
• See how 22L does in a budget custom space with minimal fuss
Germination is underway — updates coming soon with pics of the first sprouts and soil prep!
Big thanks to Divine Seeds for sponsoring this grow with free seeds — much appreciated! 💚💚💚

Lowbuds Day 1: She’s Up 🌱 | Black Opium Auto
We have liftoff!
The seed cracked after 2–3 days in the paper towel — fast and clean germ, as usual when starting on a full moon 🌕.
I planted her into the 22L pot with amended soil (worm humus, Root Complex, Power Zyme), and she broke through the surface yesterday. Today she’s standing at around 1 cm tall, looking strong and healthy so far.
Under the cheap eBay LED now, in my budget custom space. Nothing fancy — just trying to keep temps stable and light distance gentle for the first days.
Looking forward to seeing how she builds roots over the next week before starting any LST.

Lowbuds Week 2 Update: Slow and Steady + Moving Day 🌱💡 | Black Opium Auto
She’s still moving slow but steady — sitting at around 10 cm tall now. Leaves look healthy, and she’s just starting to settle into her rhythm. Not rushing her, just letting the roots do their thing in the 22L pot.
Today she’s moving into the budget grow area — finally got some space freed up! She’ll be getting better light from now on under the cheap eBay setup, which should help speed things along.
Starting this week, I’ll begin feeding lightly with PowerZyme and Root Complex, and might introduce a half-dose of TNT Complex if she continues to grow smoothly. Nothing too heavy, just building her up nice and easy.
No LST yet — still waiting for a bit more stretch before gently bending things out.
More pics soon as she settles into her new spot 👀

Lowbuds 📓 Black Opium Auto – Week 3(?) Update: Settling In Slowly
She’s still pretty small — hasn’t developed much over the last week. The second set of leaves is finally starting to appear, but overall progress has been slow.
That might be on me — she only started getting consistent light and attention this week after moving into the proper grow space. Now that she’s in place with better lighting and airflow, I’m hoping she picks up the pace soon.
Still feeding lightly with PowerZyme and Root Complex. Will wait on TNT until I see more noticeable growth. No LST yet, just letting her find her feet.
30.06 Update, she’s already doing better and started a new set of leaves
