Embarrassed_Corgi_64 The OG Kush of back in the day no longer exists in the mainstream. The goal of this project is to find and keep a proper cut of OG Kush from Josh D's breeding. This is the OG Kiss, and grow diarrheas doesn't have a breeder tag yet for Josh D, just his older Karma Genetics work. The plan is as follows, plant 65 reg seeds on June 1st, take clones of each and keep a couple and sex a couple off each plant before flowering the moms starting Sept 1, then clones on clones of the winners and try to get two more full OG Kush monocrop runs before June 1st of 2026. Smoke weed everyday Day 4 - So far 45 of 65 have popped and are healthy sprouts. Got about 5 that are sprouted in the plugs but havent popped up and have been put in solos. 15 show no movement yet. Keeping the seeds at 77f. Overwatered on day 3 after flooding the trays for the first time after transplanted the sprouts. The solos went from lightly damp to full saturation. Gotta figure out more smarter irrigation more better. Might run out of space real fast haha oh shit

Will be following. Just started my first pheno hunt of some 1980 DPs 11 weeks back. My clones are finally all set in their final pots. Only doing 4 plants because It’s my first time pheno hunting. Excited to see how you make out with 65!

Out of curiosity is there a reason you flower the moms and not the clones? Is this for the quicker turnaround?

@Embarrassed_Corgi_64, I only know what’s been told to me this is my first time as well. I was told to grow out the clones not the mothers. The mothers have a tap root and grow differently than the clones. They tend to have more vigor and grow much larger. Plus if you are sexing the clones anyway why not flower those and leave the mothers in veg

@RatmanJR, All good points! I'm hoping to sex clones well before my first flower cycle (Sept 1st, and is dependent on cooler temps during October as I have no AC) so that I can remove the males before I run into spacing issues with 60ish plants in a 2x4 (though I'm contemplating adding a 3x3). Good point on keeping the mom and flowering the clones. One thing I've heard is that taking a clone by topping the main stem on the mother will result in a taproot from that apical clone. Not sure if true but that would be a great way to keep a mother and have a vigorous clone. Could be a good option but I've only cloned side branches personally so not sure if reliable yet. Will do some more research before making decisions in a couple months. One love!

@Embarrassed_Corgi_64, wait that’s crazy that’s how I did my Durban poison clones. When I dig these clones up I’ll let you know if they have a tap. This all makes sense the no AC especially. I think you are going to want the 3x3. In an 4x2 if you did a 16x4 grid you only have 4”x6” per plant
