Big shoutout to Dutch Passion Seed Company for hosting this contest!
Also for selecting little old me and giving a newbie grower a chance to present what they do best in the tent.
I hope I don't let you down 😅😅
Also a shoutout to GrowDiaries, for offering growers a platform where we can track our grows, learn from our mistakes and show the world just how clumsy we can be at times! 😬😁😂😘

I started the germination process quite a few days later than the Orange Bud 2.0 as the medium wasn't ready yet. It took a few days before the soil treatment took hold and a few more before the Microbes had begun doing their job. Now the soil is rich, fluffy and ready to accommodate plant life.
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
ICH1 germinated with no visual problems.
ICH2 and 3 needed surgery 🤣 These seedlings had an issue with the protective membrane.
A pair of tweezers, 10 minutes of patience and a steady hand got the cotyledons out of the membranes. 😎
The seedlings, and the first 2cm of soil directly surrounding them, only received dechlorinated tapwater + BioDown to 6.3ph + 0.2g/L Microbes
The surrounding soil however..
4L dechlorinated water
8ml Alga Grow
4ml Power Roots
4ml Pure Zym
4ml Sugar Royal
4ml Silic Rock
BioDown to 6.3ph
0.3g/L Microbes (the Living)
2g/L Nematodes (the Living)
No Army with this strain. Hazes have been too sensitive to worms in my experience 😅😂
Everything else is the same as with the Orange Bud 2.0

Spike_KCanG DPGC - Ice Cream Haze (ICH1)
The first set of true leaves have developed fully and are separated from the cotyledons.
The first set of three-pointers are coming in and the beginning of a stalk can be seen.
aka. Veg Week 1 is over 😎

ICH2 kept giving me a weird look and started turning yellow. As to the why, I am not sure. Was she locked out from overwatering? Was the soil too 'hot' for her? I don't know.
To set an example for her two sisters, I chopped off her head and let it lay there at her sisters 'feet' for an hour 😈 RIP ICH2
After taking a quick measurement, I covered the remaining soil with the clay pebbles and gave the seedlings their first taste of nutrients.
200 ml of dechlorinated tapwater and a few drops of Alga Grow + Microbes.

Had I not been keeping this diary, and documenting the grow, I would not have recognized these two seedlings. In two days, the first true leaves finished developing and separated themselves from the cotyledons 😳 I knew Hazes could grow quick but jeez!!! Didn't expect that amount of growth in such little time. Even the first set of three-pointers is starting to come in.
Time is running out. One needs to go, and it needs to go quick before these two are no longer seedlings and I end up with more than three plants in the tent! Giving it one more day, then comes the cut for one of these two beauties.

Good thing I waited one more day! ICH1 caught up, or ICH3 stunted. Either way, these 24hours were very helpful in allowing both seedlings to show what they can. Okay, I've been watching them the past three days now. and base my decision off that. Not off the last 24 hours alone.
So.. RIP ICH3. (Would have loved to have kept her, but the silly law here says we're only allowed three plants at any one time. I already have 2xOB2.0, and I'm not tossing the second OB2.0!!)

ICH1 has decided to form propellors out of her first set of true leaves.
I'm going to take this as a warning sign that she's gonna get us really f'ing high, and NOT as a warning sign that the ventilation fan is set too intense 😅😆😂
It's been five days since I made an actual Diary documentation. She was checked-in on every day and I made a few pictures for Twitter/X. She gave no indication that she needed any attention and the moisture level in the soil obviously held out as well. Had expected more growth from her in these 5 days though. Makes me question if she is/was stunted, even just a day or two.
No matter. Other than her propellors, she looks healthy and green I don't see anything out of the ordinary with her veins though a nice rhubarb color is creeping up through her stalk and stems. That's very typical with my grows 😅😅😅

--------------------------------------------------
To close off the Veg Week, she was fed and the lighting was adjusted.
I watered the entire medium with 4L of dechlorinated tap water + feed + lemon juice down to 6.3 + 0.4g/L Microbes. Next watering should be in a week again. Let's see if she holds out that long! If not, she'll get the exact same watering+feed. If she does hold out till next week, the Alga Grow will be increased to 4ml/L
The lighting was increased from 50%@30cm (400ppfd) to 75%@45cm (475ppfd)
Let's see what one week and a halfdose of Alga Grow does!

I was nearly scared there wouldn't be any content this week due to her hardly growing 😅
She made it though! Veg Week 2 is over 😎

Found an intruder, erm.. a stowaway!! Either an old tomato or strawberry seed decided it was time to hatch, and found its way through 3-4 cm of clay pebbles, UNSCATHED!!! Perhaps the more experienced growers here can spot what it is simply by looking at the cotyledons. Either way, it's hilarious because that seed is over a year old, and is the remainder of three failed attempts at growing tomatoes and strawberries at home!!
Leaving it be until it grows a little bigger,

She was giving me flirty eyes, so I had her model for the camera.
Either that or she was begging me for some CalMag that had just freshly arrived.
Watered and fed her 4L. There was 1,5L of runoff that I actively ignored ph-testing 😆

She has't grown a single centimeter in height nor width since Sunday. Still giving me flirty eyes though..
Went to Dutch Passion's website and had a look at the strain's characteristics again to try and judge what could be holding her back.
1. "great all-rounder and does well in almost all types of grow systems/conditions"
2. "this strain belongs firmly in the XXL category"
3. "exhibit a vigorous growth pattern throughout their entire life cycle"
It was at this point I realized I'm clearly doing something wrong, so I had a look at what the experts say...
"Or grow her with 2-4 plants per m2 in a SCROG setup in large air or smart pots with a long pre-growth period."
Looks like I am on my own diagnosing this... didn't I say, I wanted to see what all I had learned after only a year of growing? Well, this is one of those moments.

What do you know? Ole Spike figured it out! I think.. 😅
Didn't ask Twitter/X.
Didn't pose a Question here on the site.
Didn't contact @DutchPassion_Official for any infos or feedback.
Look at her now!!

So what happened?
I rolled myself the biggest, dankest joint I have ever rolled. Stripped myself of all my clothing, and got into the tent with the plants. My better half closed the tent from the outside and I proceeded to hotbox the 120x60x150cm. I became "one" with the plants.
The situation became unbearable after about 5 minutes already. Not because of the plants or because I felt they were staring at my manly parts, but because after a few minutes I noticed I was sitting in a pool of sweat and the RH was peaking 95% 😳😳😳
It was unimaginable to me how these plants have held out in these conditions for these past weeks. Especially the ICH!!
She's not in the in-between phase of seedling-to-vegetative. A small stunt of growth here is acceptable as she is getting adjusted to the environment and nutrients. She's not slowing the veg growth due to the roots expanding throughout a 40L pot, which is also acceptable.
She's stunted because of the environment!
Too hot. Too little humidity. High VPD rating.
How did I come to this conclusion? The pot is still damp and even the stowaway isn't growing any!
She's sitting in a VPD of 2.5-3? She should be drinking a pot a day. (Yes, we could probably argue the "clay pebbles retaining moisture" vs "uptake of moisture by the plant" endlessly.) The pot should not be moist though at 2.5 VPD 😂
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
I stole back my youngest daughter's grow tent (which was currently empty), added it to the lung room, and that's where the ICH1 has been for the past three days. Safe to say, my thieving may have saved a plant's life.
26C / 50 RH
Lighting at 50% intensity / 50cm distance
Considering removing the clay pebbles.....

@Spike_KCanG, I had some years ago 2 photoperiods (bag seeds), planted them just like you did and just for a little experiment let them grow. One grew and made big colas, I think i trained her just for 4, but not so frosty, the other one was sooooooo small but made small rock hard and frosty buds :))) it was a fun experiment, in the end i was lucky i had one that i grew normal :))
@BrediniGreeny, that was a neat experiment. Could try that out sometime! Not now though unfortunately. To do that, I would plant them more apart from each other.
