SpliffyRand Alright, let the battle begin! I'm a big fan of Runtz, and Zamnesia keeps dropping exciting new Runtz strains. My last grow was the feminized indoor Runtz - this time I’m taking it outside and comparing three different Runtz automatic strains. Let’s see which one comes out on top!
Big thanks to Zamnesia for sponsoring this round!
The plan is simple. I’m using 11L pots filled with BioBizz Light Mix and starting them off under my SanLight EVO3-80 at 40% power. Depending on the weather, I’ll move them outside around mid-May.
To keep things easy and convenient, I won’t correct the pH or use any liquid fertilizers at the start. Instead, I’ll place two BioTabs per plant in week 2 or 3. Depending on how long they take to finish, I might add some BioBizz nutrients later in the cycle if needed.
But first things first: let there be life!
Update: There is life now - 3 out of 3 seed are successfully germinated after 3 days. 29th of april is day Nr. 1 for all of them

SpliffyRand Three out of three beans popped – success! Each strain is already showing its own character after just 8 days. The first week went by smoothly, and they’re still inside the tent for now. Depending on the weather, I’ll move them outside in about two weeks. That’ll also be the time when I start using the BioTabs.
At the moment, I’m literally doing nothing – the pots still hold enough water, so the plants are busy rooting and exploring on their own. I just check on them every few days.
I’m also considering automating the outdoor watering. Maybe with something from Gardena or Blumat – let’s see!

SpliffyRand Week 2 is done and the plants are really starting to thrive! Love seeing them grow so fast. It’s been a while since my last autoflower run, but I’m totally into it right now. Can’t wait to move them outside soon! At the moment, Runtz is in the lead! White Runtz is the slowest. Let’s compare again in a week.

SpliffyRand I started giving them some water and nutrients this week — not too much, and not too strong. I mixed 2 ml of BioBizz BioGrow into 1 liter of fresh, cold water and split it between the 3 plants, so each one got about 333 ml.

SpliffyRand They’re thriving now and starting to stretch! Can’t believe how much they grew over just a few days – and they’re already showing their first pistils! This is what you'd call the preflower stage. To keep things simple, I added two BioTabs per pot and gave them a final light dose of BioBizz liquid fertilizer to bridge the time until the tabs start slowly releasing nutrients. They also got a teaspoon each of Bactrex and Mycotrex to give the soil microbes a little boost. I have a good feeling about this one!
Also, I just ordered a Blumat automatic watering system, which I’ll try out once I move the plants outside. I’ll document the installation process here in a week or two.
The weather still isn’t great, so they’ll stay inside the tent for now.
Before I forget – you can already see the differences between the genetics. White Runtz seems to have more of a sativa-like growth pattern, while Runtz F1 stays compact like a typical indica. The "regular" Runtz seems to combine both traits – I’d call that a true hybrid! I'm really enjoying this experiment :) Let’s see what next week brings!

SpliffyRand They’re growing like crazy! This week’s growth boost was massive. I went on vacation for a few days, and when I came back, I was hit by these big beauties. Before I left, I gave them 1.5L of water mixed with 1ml/L BioBizz BioGrow – just a small dosage to help correct the pH. When I returned, the pots were almost completely dry, so I can definitely say they’re drinking at least 3 liters per week now.
The only thing that’s slightly concerning are the burnt tips on each plant. Maybe starting with two BioTabs at once was a bit too much. Next time, I’ll go with just one tab and add the second one a week or two later. For now, the nutrient burn doesn’t seem to be a real problem – the plants are super active and still stretching like mad.
Because of the ongoing bad weather, I’ll keep them in the tent for another week. My Blumat automatic watering system finally arrived, but I want to test it outside first. Fingers crossed for more sun in the upcoming days!
Super Sorte!
