T_Dub On Sunday I added three seeds to soak with RO water and a small amount of liquid seaweed. I plan to soak for 24 hours, then place in solo cups with Coco Loco coco coir mix. This Lemonade Haze sounds like a great addition to my tent.
I plan to Quadline this plant to keep her short. I also plan to experiment by using sub irrigated planters….either an Octopot or a GroBucket. I am evaluating the two options currently and I have both systems in my grow room ready to go. The Octopot isn’t too portable for photographs, but it holds 5 gallons of nutrient solution for longer absences between feedings. The GroBucket only holds one gallon and will likely need to be filled daily during the peak growing period.
I plan to grow in coco…..only my second time in coco and I didn’t enjoy my first run. Coco is the recommended medium for these sub irrigated planters, so I’ll try it.
DAILY UPDATES
Sunday night - soaked seeds in RO water with seaweed extract
Tuesday am - 36 hours later, pulled out three seeds (only 1 sprouted) and sowed in coco coir with RO water and seaweed extract.
Thursday Morning - 2 of 3 sprouted quickly. Doing extra seeds since I’m new to coco coir and I might kill off a plant.
Friday- Normal “misting” of plants and coco with RO water, cal Mag and seaweed extract. Third seed popped the soil late today.
STRAIN DESCRIPTION
Description of Lemonade Haze - Ganja Farmer Seeds
If you lack motivation and energy, Lemonade Haze will be a perfect choice for you! The genetics based on well-known Lemon Haze is a real lid! This Sativa-dominant hybrid is famous for its euphoric and creativity boosting effect. It has a relaxing effect but it won't help you fall asleep. It is quite high, as benefits a Sativa, and can reach up to 170 cm. The elongeted lime-green buds are loose and covered abundantly with red hairs. A generous poduction of aromatic resin will amaze every collector. The THC level can reach up to 25% so this is a strong hybrid. The strain tastes of a lemon candy. Lemonade Haze is available as feminized seeds.

T_Dub Misting seeds with RO water with seaweed extract, CalMag and a small amount of GH Flora Micro.
On Sunday, I added a little more coco coir to the lanky stems to keep them from tipping over. Misted with nutrient water.
On Tuesday, I moved plants to a tent. Running under lamp at 18” and 30% intensity. Running humidifier in tent targeting 75% humidity and 75 degrees.
I see in the description that this is a 75% Sativa strain, so I will be Quadlining this plant to keep her short. Evaluating whether to SCROG too.
Friday photo shows two healthy sized seedlings and one runt. I will transplant the two healthy seeds into one gallon pots soon.

T_Dub It’s Saturday, so a new week begins. I anticipate moving two of these into one gallon pots this week. The runt on the right will be culled.
Moved one plant from each strain into one gallon containers. Hope to transfer these to Octopots in 1-2 weeks.
It’s amazing how much faster the seedlings in the one gallons are growing compared to the solo cups.
On Wednesday, I transplanted into GroBuckets and moved her to a dedicated 2x2x6 tent.

T_Dub I’m using the gro buckets with coco loco, and this is truly lazy person growing. Exactly what I wanted. All I’m doing is providing the nutrients, and ph’ing the solution to 6.0. Fill the tube until the float hits the top. Much better than soil, and I’m not having to constantly water like I did with coco in the past. No gnats from the soil since I’m using coco. No top watering either. So far…..so good with these GroBuckets and CocoLoco. (Plus the Lucas Formula for GH Flora nutrients. Im using 5ml of Flora micro and 10ml Of Flora Bloom which is a light version of the formula. Being an enclosed feeding system, I’m hesitant to fully feed at 8ml Micro and 16ml Bloom)
I’m really enjoying these Gro Buckets.
All water is provided by the reservoir in the base…..I am not top watering at all.
Daily Updates:
Saturday, moved the plants from two 2x2 tents into one 2x4 tent. Now under a 300 watt lamp in a 2x4.
Monday: noticed a high VPD reading of 1.5. Probably stressing the plants at 80 degrees and 48 percent humidity. I will add a humidifier tomorrow to bring the VPD down.
Thursday: seeing rust spots on leaves that appear to be a deficiency. Increasing bloom nutrients.

T_Dub The beginning of week 5 of veg and my current process appears to have a limp and sick plant. One plant is responding to the GroBucket and Coco well while this plant is struggling. For the phosphorous deficiency, I increased the Lucas formula to 8ml Micro and 16ml Bloom per gallon. I’m doing homework on the limp leaves and the potential causes.
I’m ruling out over/under watering simply due to the fact that I’m in GroBuckets. (It’s a Bottom feeder with no ability to overfill).

T_Dub Plant is looking better since I increased the Cal Mag. She is demanding a lot more CalMag and Nitrogen than the other plant in the tent. Still yellow with some brown spots, but leaves are no longer drooping since I revised my feed.
On Saturday I removed some lower damaged leaves.
On Friday, posted a few more photos. She’s a hungry strain despite feeding at full strength of Lucas formula.

T_Dub Reaching up to 28 inches today. Worried that I will run out of vertical space soon unless I remove my inline filter from the ceiling.

T_Dub Plant gained 7 inches last week….now up to 35 inches. Now only 6-8 inches below the LED lamps. Running out of headroom, so I hope the stretch is over.
Planning to clean up the lower third of the plant on Saturday.
By Wednesday, she’s looking healthier than during veg. I had added more CalMag since I’m growing in coco. She demanded more than the other plant in the tent. Now at 5ml/gallon on CalMag.
By Friday, she’s grown to 37”….up 2” for the week. I’m hoping that her vertical stretch is finished as my lights are as high as possible without modifying my setup.

T_Dub Entering week 5 of flower. Losing leaves, but I think she’ll finish. She’s been a hungry plant…at least that’s my guess for why the leaves are yellowing and dropping off.
Added some Seaweed Extract to see if that will help.
I’m continuing to feed one gallon per day to fill up the “gro buckets”.
I am not top feeding at all and haven’t done so since transplant day. All water is fed from the reservoir in the bottom of the bucket.
I’m starting to add homemade Terpinator. See recipe photo.
As I close out the week, I’m noticing some potential potassium deficiency with brown edges on some leaves. I’ve increased the Liquid Koolbloom (0-10-10) to add more supplemental potassium. I’m also planning to lower my ph from 6.3 to 6.0 on my next few feeds. (I’m in coco coir)

T_Dub Starting week 6 of flower on Saturday. This Lemonade Haze is a 9-10 week strain according to Ganja Farmer.
I’m lowering the ph of my feed from 6.3 to 5.8 today. Feedback from another grower indicates that my ph may be too high at 6.3 in coco loco. Hope to see an improvement in potassium uptake. I have a few leaves with burnt edges, which could be caused by bad ph. It could also be that these girls need a flush, but these GroBuckets don’t appear to have any method of flushing. I’m seeing this symptom on both plants in my tent (different strains….same nutrients).
The GroBuckets remain the easiest method of growing that I have tried. I’m simply filling the bottom reservoir every day and they feed from the bottom. I’m also using coco coir (I usually grow in soil), so some of these leaf issues I’m seeing could be the result of my inaccurate feeding. Or….I have a salt buildup that’s starting to cause problems. The next few weeks should tell me if I have a salt buildup issue.
I also added homemade Terpinator to the feed. I’m not “sold” that it adds any value…..but it’s cheap to make and some experienced growers seem to recommend it.
Friday: Closing out journal for flower week 6. This is a 9-10 week strain according to Ganja Farmer seeds, so I’m 3-4 weeks away I’m guessing. I’m also seeing the start of some foxtailing….likely due to intense lighting and growing too close to the LED.

T_Dub Starting week 7 on this 9-10 week strain. I usually run longer than the seedbanks recommend, so I’m assuming I will go 10-11 weeks…..4-5 more weeks to go. I’m having difficulty keeping the temperature and humidity down in the grow room which reminds me why I usually only grow in winter.
Noticing the possible start of foxtails on the Lemonade Haze. It’s grown so close to the LEDs that it’s possibly stressed from the heat and light.
One photo shows the liquid transfer pump I use for watering. I mix 3-4 gallons of feed at a time and use this pump to refill the reservoirs on the GroBuckets. But these liquid transfer pumps are a game changer when it comes to watering.
Ph this week has been lowered from 6.2 to 5.8 due to leaf issues (potassium deficiency).

T_Dub Welcome to week 8 of flower. Ganja Farmer estimates 9-10 weeks of flowering time, and these pistils are still white. Plenty of time left, so I’m not cutting back on any nutrients yet.
Thursday: Conducted a trichome check using a wireless microscope. This is the best I can do for determining harvest timing. Looks like I want to wait another week at a minimum here. Trichomes are mostly cloudy but still showing clear. A little more amber would be preferred. (I assume this strain will show amber).
No rush here…..I think she will run at least one week longer than the Ganja Farmer Gorilla GG4 on the left.

T_Dub Welcome to week 9 since I flipped to 12/12 lighting. This Ganja farmer Lemonade Haze is a 9-10 week strain, so we’re close. The trichome check performed last week revealed that I have another 1-2 weeks to go. She’s still holding her large colas up with out additional support needed….needs to put on more weight.
Getting really close.

T_Dub Harvesting this week, so no nutrients added. Just added water and dechlorinator drops. Topped off with one gallon. This is my last grow until winter begins….the added indoor heat and humidity is too much in summer.
Overall, I do recommend these GroBuckets as a simple growing tool, but the self-watering AC Infinity fabric pots are slightly better in my humble opinion since they can be flushed. I did experience what I believe to be some salt buildup and leaf damage as a result. I haven’t decided whether my next grow will use GroBuckets, AC Infinity self-watering bases. I have several months to decide.
@yan402, thank you! I’m not real happy with these crunchy leaves, but the buds are looking good. I think she would have benefitted from a flush if it were possible in these GroBuckets.
