BigL1 As I'm coming to the end of first week, I'm so hyped to see my girls growing. This is one of the reasons I wake up happy in the morning. I also mentioned this in the question section but my biggest nightmare is underwatering my plants while I'm trying to avoid overwatering. Now I'm watering 50-60 ml per day per plant and slowly will adopt to watering every 2-3 days. They are in 2L pots now and I'm not watering to runoff for now. Thank you and happy growing everyone!

Almost done with 1st week, watering my girls 50-60ml each, once a day in 2L pots. It's 28C (80F), humidity around 65. I check the soil (1inch deep) but still feels a little wet even after one day.(despite little water and 80F) Should I still water them as they are still seedling?

Hi there, If your soil is still wet, you should wait a little bit longer until top 1inch is completely dried or you can estimated the weight by checking how light the pot is.It should happen in the next two or three days. Then give water until you see some run off from the bottom and check again the weight of the pot to know when to give water again. In that way you can avoid over/underwatering to your plants and also prevent salt build up in the medium.Happy growing... ✌️

BigL1 Day 13 : Alg-a-mic applied as a foliar spray. Day 14 : Cal-mag introduced to Royal G with the ppm raised from 50 (soft water) to 200 , next watering Lemon will also get some cal-mag. Royal G has shown very nice growth this week. Looks like it's gonna be short and bushy. I was expecting a spike from Lemon but she didn't stretch or grow as much last 2 days. Next watering, I will start applying grow nutes. Unfortunately, I can't do anything with the temps. Goes up to 90F. Humidity isn't that bad as I'm still in veg. Royal G gets 100ml water every 2 days, Lemon 100ml every 3 days. They are 8cm tall and lamp distance about 50cm (20 inch) now.

Day10 - Do you guys think they look happy? Planning 35-40 days in veg. They're in 2L pots (half a gallon). Should I wait until they fill the pot before transplanting or is it fine at any point? My concern is it may take too much time to fill the pots and need time to top, LST etc

Hi there, First of all, Don’t underestimate the growth of root.Even the small seedling have alot of roots growth down there.I would like to recommend to transplant when leaves become parallel with your pot’s rim.Always take caution while transplanting and don’t expose your roots too long at outside.Prepare your final pot first.I recommend to use at least 5gallon pot as final pot.Turning your plants upside down and cover your pot’s opening side with your hand.Gently remove your small pot and put your plant inside your final pot.Give some amount of water after transplanting.Good luck and Happy growing... ✌️

Although leaves look ok, my Lemon didn't do much in last couple days. Do you think this is normal for a sativa (only 3inches)? It'll hopefully catch up but still wanted to get your opinion. I hope I didn't do anything wrong with watering or it's not because of high temps? Thanks

Temps will slow them down 83 f is max temperature. Plus light distance will effect if plant needs to get taller to get more light. Good luck and happy growing 🌱🌱🌱

BigL1 Unfortunately, girls are not looking good although the leaves look normal. Lemon Haze showed just a little growth this week. I added some grow nutes (400-500ppm) my last watering but not much changed, it's still 8cm. Both plants have very short nodes, didn't really stretch at all. I'll transplant into 5Gal pots, pour some mykoriza and see what happens. Temps have been crazy past couple days up to 90F. Maybe this is the reason why their growth has slowed down but I grew in worse conditions and I wouldn't expect a sativa plant to be like this. Good air circulation inside, also intake and exhaust fans are working. Maybe it's just sadly pheno related so fk my life. 3rd week update : Lemon Haze is not really growing. Feeding both girls at 400-600 ppm. Watering every 2 days, no overwatering issues. Temps are down to 80-85F. RH around 60. Still haven't transplanted.. If it doesn't grow this week with cooler temps, I will probably dump it to create space for alternative one. That's very sad though..

Although I spray water around the stem slowly, the water drainage was too fast, just spraying 20-30 ml of water and it drained right away in 2L (half a gal) pots - watered 100-150ml Do you think there could be a problem with the roots or soil structure? She is growing so slow

You need to water the whole pot, not just a piddling amount next to the stem, roots will not grow into dry substrate and this could be why the growth may seem slow. It is far better to deep water until run off every few days than it is to give tiny amounts often. The soil could also be over dry and has become "hydrophobic", whereby water just runs through the pot rather than be absorbed. Standing the pots in a container of water for a few minutes and letting the water get sucked up from the bottom can rehydrate the soil quite easily and quickly. Growth could also be affected by keeping them in small pots too long, they really need 15-20 litre pots (or bigger) for best and fastest growth. Hope this helps, Organoman.

First set of true leaves I noticed a brown spot and feeding a little cal-mag now. Cotyledon leaves are almost fully yellow and dead. Also, true leaves getting lighter. Does that mean it's not getting enough nutes? How can I get this plant moving? It started off really well..

Yes its asking for more nutrients. Start feeding it grow nutrients. If your growing with LED lights feed a little more cal mag then normal. Your plant is healthy and fine. That's 100% normal when a plant runs low on nitrogen and other nutrients

BigL1 DAY 22 Both girls transplanted with mychorizae, watered 500ml with grow nutrients at 400-600ppm. I think transplanting helped Lemon because the root structure wasn't good and after transplanting it showed some growth. Temps have been cooler, around 80F, keeping the RH around 70 as suggested by VPD chart. I'll start using B52 next watering. Also, applying cal-mag every other watering in small amounts. Day 26 Both plants topped. Hot temps are back. I thought transplanting was gonna help but no luck, growth is so slow. I gave them half a liter of water during transplant and they are still not dry despite 87-88F (30C) it has been 5 days so if 500ml of water doesn't dry in 5 days under 88F I don't know what and in this case, I don't know how to feed at this point. Day 28 Last week of the day, girls still haven't dried out so I'm not watering to be on the safe side, thus I couldn't give any nutes this week. Still growing slowly but it makes me happy to see new shoots reaching for the light. Seedlings are doing fine. I decided to keep them in veg for 8 weeks.

I was told to water to runoff but even 1/2L of water during transplant hasn't dried in 5 days in hot temps. Since I'm watering like once a week now, should I feed at full strength and to runoff? Girls are still not very developed and this keeps extending veg period..

Waiting days for the top inch or so to dry out is not a problem, but feeding full strength to baby plants is. Half strength is plenty. Always feed only if the substrate is moist, feeding on dry soil can burn the roots. After looking through your diary, everything seems spot on, so the slow growth is most likely down to genetics.

BigL1 Day 31 I don't know how it's possible but it's been 10 days since last watering. Soil still feels a bit moist and both plants are growing very slowly. I decided to call the small plant "miniature haze" . Other one is so bushy and it takes forever for the shoots to reach the light. I cut off the first set of leaves. You can see how small they are just by looking at their stems I'm dealing with 88-91 F temps and humidity around 60.

Looking good man. The few bad leaves will not recover anymore and can be moved away. The plant will use energy to try to save them but they won't be beneficial for ur plant anymore. Lollipop them so plant can focus on the strong leaves. Good grow so far. They will evolve fast now once the roots can spread. Happy growing buddy 😉🙏

@Clutch, Thank you brother. I will remove the bad leaves tomorrow. Also, would you top them now? I mean they look bushy and not that tall and growing 6th node right now. I was planning to wait for a couple more days since I just transplanted them.

Clutch commented4y ago
@BigL1, yes, now is the perfect time to top them. Many growers do it when the plants hit the 4th node. Enough roots to bounce back for sure now she has six 😁
