Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. I just harvested auto Lavender. She has a fruity, and flowery aroma. Nice dense colas on her. I used Agrogardens nutrition. I had the biggest roots I have had with this nutrition. She grew too close too the light. She outgrew my grow room. I will be putting it in the cannatrol after 24 hours hanging. I will be back to update once I get it finished. HARVEST DAY! 162 days after the sprout, and 117 days after the switch. It makes almost 6 months!! What a never-ending journey! I chopped down the princess and decided to place the colas on the usual hanging net without trimming them directly. I just couldn't. Every cola requires at least 30-40 mins to be trimmed properly. I got something like 50 or 60 colas in total. It's a total pain in the ass believe me!!! There are layers consisting in calyx, leaf, calyx, leaf, and so on. You basically need to work between every couple of small calyxes in order to remove the leaf in the middle, while being very careful to not cut down everything. It's insane!!!!!! So.... just wait a little more for the final harvest and the smoke report. They will come, but definitely not now! In the meantime I uploaded some harvest photos and videos. ;-) See you soon!!!

I started feeding liquid nutrients this week. Although I’m using Nature’s Living Soil Super Soil Autoflower Concentrate mixed with Fox Farm Ocean Forest—so technically I could water only until harvest—I decided to begin liquid feeding in Week 3 at half the recommended dose. I also have a Tray2Grow Autopot system for automatic bottom feeding, but I haven’t activated it yet. When using liquid nutrients via top feeding, I’d need to turn the Autopot system off and wait until the plants absorb all the water in the tray before feeding from the top. Afterward, I’d have to manually turn the system back on. That seems like a hassle compared to just hand-watering and feeding. I could technically add the liquid nutrients to the Autopot reservoir, but that somewhat defeats the purpose of the system. The tank holds 25 gallons—enough to last a few weeks—but if I want to change or rotate nutrients weekly, I’d have to dump the remaining water and remix the solution each time. If I wanted to feed nutrients every other watering, I’d be changing out the tank every 3 days. Plus, liquid nutrients can cause buildup, so I’d need to clean the reservoir and all the tubing regularly. For now, I’ll stick with hand-watering and top feeding. I’ll only switch to the Autopot system if I need to leave town.

Week 4 – Day 30 (VT30 / BT6) RedPure#4 is starting to live up to her name – the first purple tones are showing! 💜 She’s also picked up growth this week – the stretch seems to be kicking in 🔥 So far, no signs of stress or issues. She’s developing steadily and stays compact, but with noticeable progress. Excited to see how far she’ll go in the coming weeks! 🌿⏳

📆 Semana 3: Esta variedad sera un cultivo mixto, interior y exterior para ver todo su poderio em ambos lugares. Ha sido una buena semana en la que han dado un gran cambio en sus lugares definitivo 😎. Se le ha aplicado un tratamiento insecticida con agua + tierra de diatomeas ( 1 cucharadita por litro de agua), también se le aplica un tratamiento fungicida con una infusión de cola de caballo para evitar futuro moho. A partir de ahora se aplica riego por goteo, 1/3 de la dosis recomendada por el fabricante ya que al estar en exterior y en buena tierra tiene bastante comida. En interior seguira el mismo plan nutricional que el resto, ajustando sus dosis de nutrientes segun sean requeridos. Potencia de la lámpara: 60% , se conecta el Marshydro TS-1000 para dar apoyo en la carpa de 1.50 x 1.50 x 1.50
