Chonga is doing nicely at 7", Cheecha still a little behind. The soil has been staying moist for awhile, even with light watering and I was worried about root rot. So, I let them go about a week without watering. After a light watering with the remaining 1 ml/2Qt nutrient/water solution (about 1 cup each plant), I took the plunge and decided to try Topping (or FIMing), which I did a few days after watering. I'm also concerned about soil PH. I've been testing it with the 3-in-1 tester, but it always reads about 7. I tried the thing out in pure vinegar, but it gave the same results. So, soil PH is anybody's guess. I eventually bought a digital PH tester for liquids. BIG CHANGE: On Day 27, I switched over to a new, 1200W LED grow light.

Here is the update for actual week. The summer hits very hard - since almost 10 days in a row, we have 30°C outside and it was the right decision to set the day phase from 6pm to 6am. cutted down most of the fanleafes today. all trichomes turned opaque so i will start with the first "clear-water-flush" in 2 days and will flush them 4 times on any 3rd day!

We have passed the month and we are madly in love with all our autoflowering plants, we have two per strain, one worked with a mainlining adapted according to the characteristics of the plant and one that grows straight, we can't easily give up the main cola. For now we show you those worked with the techniques that are more interesting to see and later planted earlier to make them finish more or less together with those that will grow straight and fast. Our Ghost Train Haze is a spectacle, the main lining fits her like a glove because she is a plant with a wide internodal distance. I managed to bend the branches very well and the laterals have already lengthened in a very effective way and the lateral branches are already rising upwards, amazing this plant will have many effective branches. I am quite sure after this experience that this tactic is more suitable for plants with a wide internodal distance. So topping at the third internode, main lining, no pruning until the third internode and topping them again so we have multiplied the buds adequately. The application of the techniques is a delicate moment also for fertilization. Topping slows down the growth of the plant a bit and does not make it require all that Grow fertilizer that is normally recommended. So you have to go really slow and understand when to reduce the nitrogen. Better to prepare the soil with fertilizers to mix with the soil probably. The problem is sweeping now that it is going into flowering, the plant has shown the first fluff, declared the sex, and the fertilizer will soon be needed indeed. You have to inflate. In any case everything is under control and I will demonstrate it to you during the flowering phase. Wait for the Uncle BreadandBuds and see what he does. Remember that cold temperatures make the girls absorb food much more slowly than in summer so be careful to give the right amount and let the plant dry in maximum 2 days or you risk imbalances. Week 8! I've seen some challenges leading up to this point so far, with Plant #2 showing the results of what insanely high EC levels can do and how important it can be to know what's going in to the soil and what's coming out. Luckily, things seem to be straightening out and both plants are putting on bud weight. Day 50: - did some very light defoliation, removing a few fan leaves that were blocking bud sites on both plants. - the smell is starting to get much stronger than it was last week. Day 51: - watered with a 310ppm nutrient solution, using 3ml of Remo's Bloom nutrients + GH's CaliMagic per gallon of dechlorinated (by aeration) tap water. Day 52: - nothing to report Day 53: - tent temperatures reached a bit higher than normal due to warmer outside temperatures. 80F instead of 78F, for approximately 8hrs. Day 54: - Plant #2 has an extremely sweet smell, sort of like grape. - Plant #1 is smells similar but not quite as sweet and not quite as much grape. Day 55: - Probably should have watered today but we're leaving it one more day. Day 56: - watered with plain, dechlorinated (by aeration) tap water. - used small amount of bloom nutrients to adjust pH from 7.1 to 6.4, resulting in a weak 55ppm nutrient solution. - watered to runoff (maybe 10%). - Plant #2 runoff testing at 6.3 pH and 1850ppm, which is higher than we expected. - did some light foliage trimming, mostly on plant #2, to remove dead and mostly-dead leaves.
