@MephistoGenetics, Hi all the happy people here in GrowDiaries. This is my second cultivation ever and it will be fun to try a bigger space than my closet grow. First, I'm just going to say I'm done with the construction of my new growroom. The room is 2.14 meters by 1.7 meters and has a ceiling height of 2 meters. It provides a floor area of ​​3.6 square meters. I use a 54 Watt Lightwawe T5 for germination and 2 Pcs 400 Watt HPS lamps. I have a channel fan that replaces the room air about 40 times an hour to get a comfortable environment in the room, the air enters a fresh air intake from the outside. Week 3 - Day 15 - She's still looking good, and starting to take off! PHing a little every day and watching her water carefully for signs of algae/cyanobacteria. Things are still looking good, so I think I may have this DWC thing under *some* sort control.

9.1.25: Watermelon 🍉 is doing well, slowed down a bit, but at least I got the LST going earlier on her. Which will hopefully stand her in good stead going forward. I've been readjusting the LST. I just took all the pegs out and reshaped her. Willkommen zur BW1, die Pflanzen befinden sich mittlerweile im Stretch und haben das SCROG Netz fast erreicht. Ab nächster Woche werde ich dann beginnen müssen, die Triebe nach und nach ein zu Flechten. Leider hat #2 nicht die selbe Höhe, aber da kann ich mit leben. Die ältere Pflanze zeigt leichte Anzeichen von Überdüngung, auch das ist nicht so tragisch aber wertvoll für die nächsten Grows. Mittlerweile hat GHF auf ihrer Seite die Empfehlung auf 3G/L Substrat angepasst, ich würde jedem empfehlen erst einen Teil und ab Blütenbildung den Rest der gesamten Düngermenge zu geben. Mittlerweile lässt sich auch ein leichter Geruch im Zelt vernehmen.

Plucked a few leaves that were looking at me funny ;) Not much to do! Very strong lemony smell!! Watered with 2.5 gallons of the above listed nutrients, every 5-6 days. (when the soil becomes 95% dry) 10% of the solution watered runs out the bottom of the pot, and is removed with a wet-vacuum.

Day 15 - First day in the second week of veg cycle and I am generally happy with both ladies. Cheech is looking like she is bending over a little with the weight of her leaves, so I’ve given her a bit of help to keep her steady and strong. I’ve also noticed that the roots on Cheech are sticking together and a bit darker than I would like. This could mean that the air stone left a “dead spot” where the water wasn’t circulating properly. I’ve adjusted the air stone to be more centre in the bucket and made sure that the water is cold enough to prevent potential root rot. Will need to keep a close eye for the next week or so. Lights have been not been adjusted (still at 60cm from seedlings) because there has only been about a 2cm growth in the last week. Changed the water (10L), buckets and nutrients to keep everything healthy. The tubes for the air bubblers are wiped down because the nutrients stick to the pipe. Milwaukee PH controller is running for about 1 hour to bring the PH down again from the addition of the nutrients and change in water. Day 17 and we have a clear front runner in Cheech. Her third node is open with a fourth clearly visible. Venezia has a clear third node, but it isn’t fully open yet with the fourth just barely starting. Day 20 - Cheech has a clear fourth node now and the fifth is starting to show whereas Venezia is one node behind. They are looking healthy and they will be ready to be topped in the coming week of veg

Here’s the update: She’s in week 8 of flower so far and a lot has happened since the last post. Since may 20th 2025, I noticed a small deficiency in the plant but couldn’t quite pin it down as to what it was, fast forward 10 days and I notice that she was getting more deficient and started to show more signs of what it was and once it was clear I ruled it out as a magnesium deficiency since I lacked any in my pot. I since grabbed some dolomite lime from Down To Earth (OMRI) and sprinkled 5 tablespoons into the top soil and watered with PH’d and dechlorinated water and worked it into the soil with the watering. It’s too soon to say it has any effects so far but I’m hoping my rookie mistake can be fixed. I do understand I am pretty late into flower for a top dress but the flowers look young still and could go for some more time but if I’m wrong please guide me the right way haha, also I did the top dress on June 4th 2025. First day of flower flip : April 11th 2025 Current date : June 5th 2025

160 days of life harvested on day 63 of flower. I don’t have photos of her vegging but she started off great. About two weeks in, she started having some major issues. Her leaves started atrophying, curling up at the borders, growing 3 finger leaves, all new growth was deformed and twisted and growth in general almost stopped completely, to what I suspect was from broad mites. These fuckers are nasty! I dm’d my local grow shop and tried out some Neem Oil. I diluted it in water like they recommended and sprayed that baby every day for one week, then every other day the following week, then down to once a week. I sprayed her leaves stem and surface of the soil. I also cleaned the entire grow space with some bleach solution. Doing this allowed her to really bounce back, growth started to take off again! So I vegged for a few more weeks and trained her as much as I could to keep her uniform but short, she responded well to this. During flower, she was very happy. I had two main issues during this time, one was being too hot in Nitrogen and a week of very hot temperatures which burned her a slight bit, although she didn’t seem to mind much. I also could’ve continued a once a week spray of Neem oil because I think they might’ve started to come back on the lower and younger leaves that weren’t getting much light. Overall it was a dope grow and hope to do better on the next one!
