Week 3 of veg. And within a couple of days of the changes, they all hit their stride in earnest. We fim’d mid-week and they all bounced back quickly despite some cuts being a little on the long side. Approx. 24 days of veg. And they’ve now been flipped to flower. So far, the system has proven impressive despite a failure of our run off pump. Just a cheap bilge pump that was doomed to fail and has since been replaced with something a little more durable. We’ve got some trademark NL variegation showing now and they all stretch from the second node very similarly to the SB. Seems as though we’ve got a good gene mix here but the proof will be in the bud pudding. Should have the males picked out and culled within a week or so. Until then - all is extremely well in this tent👌👍.

Week 4 ( 22/8/23 - 28/8/23)

Bigggg plant!!

AFTER TWENTY LONG YEARS HAPPENED TO TURN GRASS FROM THE AGE OF 15 YEARS, IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR I FOUND IN THE EXPERIENCE I DREAMED TO DO FROM A LIFE ... (AND BELIEVE ... EXPERIENCES I HAVE MADE MANY). BUT THIS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE DREAM OF A WHOLE LIFE AS A DISTINCT CONSUMER OF CANNABIS. I WAS DREAMED IN MY DRAWING TO CULTIVATE AND SMOKE THE GRASS MADE BY ME FROM A YOUNG MAN ... AND NOW THAT I HAVE REALIZED THIS MAGNIFICENT EXPERIENCE I WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL OF THE COMMUNITY THAT IN PART YOU HAVE BEEN MY MENTORS MANY TIMES I TRIED TO PLANT THE SEED OF HAPPINESS BUT FOR A PROBLEM OR ANOTHER I HAD TO THROW EVERYTHING .... WELL ... NOW DEAR FRIENDS ... I KNOW WHAT I HAVE LOST FOREVER. THIS TIME I HAVE INVESTED MONEY ... I HAVE PUT ALL THE DEDICATION AND A FUCKING PATIENCE THAT I HAVE NEVER BEEN GOOD TO HAVE ... it's THERE I MADE IT !!!

At the beginning of this week, I have been fighting the gnats, which are less and less now. Just some watering and gradually lowering the light and going to full power. The Orange Hill Special has been filling out great and I must say, she is a pretty plant. With some manual bending and super cropping, I'm bending the longer stalks sideways and we are off. What I actually do is more of an intuitive hybrid between mainlining (where I bend the whole plant 90 degrees at the third week), LST (where I bend branches outward slightly, without tying), HST / Super crop (where I bend the stems 90 degrees with the clips or manually), after which I keep bending outward to SOG and, put the net over to end in SCROG. This same method gave me the canopy in my prize-winning Gelato 33 grow. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it was my first experimental accident that led to beta test of Super Soil mixture 0.7, now we are at Alpha version 1.00 and testing great so far if I say so myself. I haven't seen such lush greens in my own grows, only outdoor. They seem uber-healthy and resilient, with very sturdy stems and leaves. Way more resilient than previous strains I tested in the beta soil. The light is performing, the natural color of it makes everything pop. Mars Hydro has a winner with the SP-3000. Halfway through this week, I took the clips out, AND...... we switched them to go into flowering. After a day the stretch is already visible. I had to bend them again after a couple of days. Now we have almost a tent filling foundation for a maximum result canopy of buds. I was wanting to amend the soil with flowering additions (see recipe in yellow image), but I'm holding it off for two reasons. A/ The leaves are still so green and lush, I think there is an abundance of nutes. B/ @Haoss mentions his suspicions on his OHS grow (@#CannapediaProGrowersCup Orange Hill that very sadly went hermie on him) that nutrition in this phase could have had an influence, after asking what happened to him. I would have loved to see that grow to full harvest. But it makes me a bit cautious. if Haoss (whom I consider to be one of the star growers here) couldn't prevent this, what chance have I? I'm waiting until the girls start asking for nutrients. They'll show me what they need in their own time. For now this soil is the shizzle (also quite literally) and Im happy with how everything is going. I remember much more hassle and steering in the last grow. This grow, even the Gorilla runt seems happy. I now water them 3 liters of water / Perma tea mixture every 4 days, every 3rd watering I don't do the tea. This makes for fewer gnats and this soil seems to hold water nicely, also due to the hydro corn. What I like is there is always some unforeseen circumstance, a tilt of the tables, some battle to be fought which delivers in big harvests or, in worst case, no harvest at all. It makes it more exciting, when your heart is at stake, we pour a lot of love and attention in the ladies. So with hopes, but not too high, we go into flowering. Not much resin yet, maybe next week. A little bit of smell already, mostly veg/plant smell though. All in all, I think it's going pretty well.

This was my harvest update^^

This week I had to Lollipop again (I know is very late and I hope I didn’t stressed the plant to much). My canopy is so tick and so many overlapping leaves and buds in the center of the plant that don’t receive enough light or any at all , n combination with the RH swings that I got going on (45 and 63 RH), I’m very afraid of mold. I should have did a better job at Lollipoping from day 21. I’m inexperienced grower and I didn’t knew better. I decided is better to risk to shock the plant a little bit risking a reduction in yield then get mold or pests and lose it all. My 30 pin dehumidifier works great with the AC but sometimes when the AC( compressor) stops my RH jump at 62% -63%, witch I don’t like . I’m trying to keep the humidity around 50% but in such a small room between the AC and Dehumidifier I got big swings in temp ( 75-82) and RH ( 45%-63%) witch is not ideal but is nothing that I can do. I played with the AC and Dehumidifier setting a lot trying to keep humidity around 50% and temp around 80 degrees and that’s the best I can. My AC is set at 82 degrees and my Dehumidifier is set at 45% RH. Also during the lights off (day time) is very hard to keep the temperature In control when outside is 110-115 degrees with my portable AC (1400BTU) in the 4x 6 closet. Is crazy but I do my best to keep temp under control. This is another rocky mistake I made is trying growing weed DWC in the middle of summer where temps are 105-115 degrees constant in a closet without centralized AC port and at second level in the building. LOL Also I think I underfed her (630 PPM TDS, PH 5.8-5.9) ) and I got a Ca deficiency witch I think is the reason my flowers developed slower then I anticipated. Hopefully I’m wrong and everything will be good. P.S. I got a little bit of calcium deficiency caused by salt buildup (to much PK boost) despite my earlier belief that is underfed. I increased the PPM from week 4 (630-640TDS) to 680 TDS) on week 5 while I kept the PK booster at 3+ml l per gallon. Slightly my PPM’s was rising in my reservoir for few days until I decided that my plant can’t take that much nutrients (PK). 2-3 days after I increased the TDS I’ve noticed more spots on the lower leaves with tip burns on top ( first signs of PK toxicity). One day later found spots and yellowing of the leaves on top of the plant that indicates Ca deficiency caused by salt buildup ( PK toxicity) and reversed osmosis (hope I’m not wrong). Going into week 6 I lowered the PK boost at 1.5ml / gallon and total TDS to 640 PPM. Seems like leaves damage to stop and my PPM to stay stabile at 630-640. Trying to keep PH at 5.8 max 5.9. I will post pictures of my Ca deficiency/ PK toxicity. If you guys have any suggestions please leave me a comment.

After nutrition lockout for about more than a week,8 and a half hours without oxygen because the fan stopped working at night so I notice it in the morning,EVERY PLANT IS STILL ALIVE,I give her a good flush and she is looking much better and much fatter

Day 47 or so I haven’t measured her so the height can’t be right she’s huge! And getting so heavy. Took some photos of her in the dark while I pretreated the tent for mites or any other fuckers who like to ruin the day. Just in case. Since I recycled soil it couldn’t hurt. She’s beautiful I’m so excited for her to be finished.
