Day 50..they really look small and already fattening the buds. i don't know what to expect because i've seen some diaries and my plants look too small. i hope to see some more stretch over the next week or so.

Fed the plants with Fox Farm veg nutes once this week. Still a bit early to sex them but only really concerned about the two that are growing the fastest. Hopefully be able to tell in a couple weeks. The plants that were topped for the second time are recovering well and echo new site has grown sets of leaves One of the autos started flowering and the second should start in the next 2-3 days. Did slight LST to the flowering auto to get more sun to the bud sites on the bottom.

Was worried about mostly cloudy trichomes on week 4 already, but upon further research it seems trainwreck keeps cloudy trichs for a very long time. Excited for week 5 weight.

To finish the cycle, I left the plants in complete darkness for the last 3 days, combined with low temperatures to enhance color, resin production, and terpene expression. This final stress pushed maturity and brought out beautiful tones — especially noticeable in the pink pheno and frostier colas. Plants were then harvested on April 11, 2024, after 66 days of flowering.

Spent the past week transitioning to flower light cycle. Daphni is continuing to fill out and have some good growth around the nodes in the middle of the stalk. The humidity lingers @ 55% which is fine. I'm wondering at what week near the end should I turn the dehumidifier on. The radio is still on 95.7 (Classic and Heavy Metal Rock). Daphni's color has remained good this week and she had no major or minor leaf problems so hopefully that will stay the same. I started my Final Bloom Solution today when I changed out the reservoir. I added KoolBloom and some Cal-mag to the solution and my PPM went way up so I hope Daphni takes to it well. The ABLE Grow Chamber is still performing well but I have noticed some green growth along the grooves of the RainForest 66 reservoir. Will clean it with a tooth brush and towel.

So, this is my first grow, just starting out. After NJ passed recreational weed, I was like you know what... Went on an amazon spending spree and got some seeds from cropkingseeds and this is it! I let the seeds soak for 18hr in deer park spring water w/ 1 drop of Organic Liquid Seaweed and Kelp Fertilizer Supplement by Bloom City. At the end of soakage, it didn't look like any had cracked maybe one did not so sure. So I did up the papertowels according to the video and have to say I feel a little nervous/anxious that there is too much water/weight on the seeds and feer drownage. I'm going to keep it on there though. I check the towels a few times throughout the day and am surprised they're very moist throughout the day and next morning still somewhat damp. 24 hours in the towels I check my babies and one had cracked but the rest were still sealed up tight, unwilling to share the goodness that we all so desire, cmon babies crack that shell for papa! 11/12 looked like 1 seed popped, yay! I remoistened towels a bit but didn't wanna soak them. I also put some rapid rooters in water to soak overnight gunna throw the seeds in them in AM... I was going to do it tonight but figured I should wait see if some pop out more. 11/13 OMG upon checking seeds at 07:10 I found the papertowels like bone dry OMG WTF!!! Panic sets in but I just set up the little terrarium with 6 plugs and put the seeds in and tore some plugs off bottom of a plug to cover seedhole with. 11/14 Got a sprout! YES!! The plugs look nice and moist just going to let it go! 11/15 Woke up this mornin, saw a new sprout peeking thru and then another about to! I got ansy and took off the little top plugs and found all the sprouts were coming up! Leaving the top plug off, hopefully thats not a bad idea.

End of the third week of the stretch and they certain out did stretch indeed😳. Had to crop over the tallest female - she just stretched wayyy too much and that’s gonna go against her in the rankings when we draw out our seed on each plant. The first male has dropped fully and the others are another 1-2 days out from harvest. We’ll collect all that pollen and store it for future use if it’s needed. The plants are all showing both similarities and differences - there’s an even distribution of sativa and indica leaning phenos which suggests that there is def. Some variability in terms of traits for this F1 generation. Exactly what we were looking for as we pare this down to the second filial generation. On the overall growth - absolutely no issues at all with nutritional deficiencies which is a welcome change of pace. The last while we’ve been growing some strains that have shown very odd reactions to nute changes and I suspect this is a result of certain strains simply being bred out too far. Hard to say but the radar is definitely up with the well known breeders right now. We have some real winner pheno clones that we’ve rooted and will be flowering out once we get this tent cleaned up and free of pollen. All told, the run is progressing much better than anticipated and with the rate of turnover through transition, I’m happy to say that there isn’t any one plant I won’t consider test running on the next cycle. We did have some og auto genetics in the tent for pollination as well but that plant is looking like a bit of a mutant. Not sure if we’ll even bother with testing it at this point but you never know. Expect a harvest update on the males as we move in to the flowering side of the grow and then it’s just waiting around for seed👍. Alls well for now. Background This project has been a year in strain selection (and another year in the actual making) to get to this point with a viable potential cross. It’ll be a true polyhybrid with a mix of sativa and indica leaning properties for each. We’ve combined an especially powerful hybrid sativa strain of Strawberry with an equally manageable and hard hitting strain of indica dominant Skywalker OG. The hope has always been to combine them and boil out the best characteristics of each. The strawberry is phenomenal in terms of terp profile and a mix of strong head and body effects while the Skywalker is a mind bending, body butter kind of indica with that earthy Kush profile and flowery undertones. The strawberry is prone to botrytis and fasciation but features excellent terps and yields if grown correctly. She’s Also stretchy and somewhat unruly when she gets going. The Skywalker is a contrast in growth characteristics with a squat structure, medium sized buds and excellent resilience and resistance. The plan is to seed out the available females and take cuts of what we can post-stretch to get a closer look at any differing phenos. Still very much early stages for a stabilized new strain but we’ve got the right foundation of solid genetics. Now we just gotta get it off the ground to the next generation👍. We’re predominantly focused on the plants that demonstrate that hybrid vigour and wasting no time with any problem plants or runts. A big hello to all the cannabis growing gardeners...and all the other visitors that came across my grow journal. Just on harvest day I was summoned on a long quest...around 700 km. will be away for three days. I will update this diary as fast as i"m back. For now just the photos as no time for anything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now cannabis smell is overpowering in my grow room I can finally write something about Spider Farmers 6-Inch Inline Fan with Smart Controller and Carbon Filter :) As my grow room gets really stinky at times i always invest in a top shelf carbon filter almost twice the size of the one provided by Spider Farmer, to my shock Spider Farmer carbon filter absorbs the smells wonderfully well. No smell leaks and that just when the fan is running at 5 out of 10 levels of output. The smart controller is something completely new to me, and had a lot of fun experimenting with it during the veg and early flower, when the smell began i needed it to run full time at level 4 or 5 to rid the fragnance. All in all the whole combo is a great deal. If you are not as keen on technology the set without the controller is awesome on it's own. But to have some extra options open, the controller at the device throws at you a ton of settings you can use to optemiase you grow enviornment. We're starting to make some progress, leaves are looking good. Gaining some decent height, not too much. I topped the plant at the beginning of the week, and it has taken very well. So let's see how it turns out 😁 I watered twice this week with 1ltr of dechlorinated water PH'd to 6-6.5, containing 1ml of Ecothrive Trace and 1/4 TSP Ecothrive Biosys. Week 7: Branching Out & Embracing the Unknown 🌱🍍 Okay, I'll admit it: This whole FIMing outdoors thing is uncharted territory, but hey, isn't that half the fun of growing? The FIMing worked like a charm! Three sturdy branches are shooting out, and the original main stem is actually the runt of the litter. 😅 I guess that's a new one for me. Normally, my outdoor girls turn into towering 2-meter trees with popcorn buds galore. But this year, I'm after quality over quantity. A few strong colas, please and thank you. Am I following any hard science? Nope. Just going with my gut and the good vibes my pineapple is giving off. She's still in veg mode, so I did some more defoliation and LST to keep her energy focused. Feeling good about this experiment so far. Who knows, maybe FIMming outdoors is my new secret weapon? Time will tell!
