How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. it grows so fast. The lower leaves are shaded and away from the light. So I cut them as the plant gets taller I really don't have a good setup to be able to clean my roots. I tried this week anyway. I watered each pot with 2L (not enough I think :/) of water at 450PPM PH: 7 then after I gave 1L of water at 900PM PH: 5.5. There was a big puddle in the room afterwards. But it wasn't that hard to clean up after all. Here we are again ready to start again, always under the sign of Zamnesia, we make our fantastic plants and we show you what we are capable of. We have 5 autoflowering strains and 5 photoperiodic ones and now we present them to you. We are faced with a Classic of recent times: Runtz. It certainly does not have the age of Northern Lights but it is a truly magnificent plant and Zamnesia perhaps also has the best version. Truly super I have grown it in all sauces let's see this one. Gelato and Zkittlez are my all-time favorite mums perhaps. To explain my germination method which is a combination of experiences acquired in the field and readings of the right advisors, I have chosen to divide it into phases so whoever wants can follow them and understand better step by step. - Preparatory Phase ---- Check the average temperature in the room, humidity status to understand if it is the case to start or wait, I decided for the end of August because the temperatures start to drop towards the 22-25 degrees recommended for germination. Then another thing more or less credible depending on the sensitivity is the control of the lunar phases. I believe in it a lot, it is a method that ancient farmers used to understand when it was best to plant depending on the attraction of the moon. To make my life easier I use a simple app that advises you on the right time to plant, harvest and put in the jar (depending on the lunar phases). - Phase 1 --- Soaking in water. There are many authoritative friends who advise against this method due to the risk of drowning, but I have always been fine and I follow the rule if it opens in water the seed is almost certainly healthy and will come out of the ground 90% normally. - Phase 2 --- Opening the seed in water. As soon as the seed opens and the root comes out a little, you have to be very very careful not to leave the seed in the water open for too long. This is why there is a risk of drowning. So as soon as the root comes out, it must be planted. Do not wait for it to stretch out a lot, you can wait a little longer in the absorbent paper, but not in water. - Phase 3 --- In the meantime, while I soaked the seeds, I prepared my pots: I use small biodegradable pots (choose the ones with holes underneath for drainage). A few hours before working with the opened seeds, I moistened the soil with water adjusted to the right pH (5.8 - 6.2) and Plagron Power Roots. The small root is now open and we can make a little hole with a toothpick, widen it and insert the seed. Not too deep with the root facing downwards. From Serious Seeds we learned the dome technique: if you put a small dome of soil on the seed the water will settle on the sides avoiding overwatering problems. - Phase 4 --- The plant emerges from the soil. So far I have not put the light, now I turn it on at minimum after half a day of soil to give direction to the seedlings. The first week the light will be gradually brought from 40% to 60% to go to 70% - 75% in the remaining weeks of veg. During the first week maximum, I keep the cycle of 24 hours to avoid stretching. Jack Herer x Ruderalis Day 1 Sprout on Sept 16, 2019 @ about 8-9 pm- Canuk Seeds - Jack Herer Fem Autoflower September 13th at 6:30 pm: Planted in a 5 Gallon pot that was previously flushed, loaded with Gaia Green slow release nutrients and soaked down with a PH of 6.51. The pot has many fine roots remaining in it from my Amnesia XXL grow. I filtered through and took out a lot of the larger roots, while I tilled the soils with a fork and my hands until the coco medium was fluffy again. Lighting is a Phlizon 1000w LED/245 watt power draw, including 2 cob lights. It sits at about 25" from soil. During my "First Grow" of Amnesia XXL I had kept my lighting really low from the start. I wanted a shorter plant that allowed light access across the canopy tops and less popcorn bud. With this grow, I am going to keep the lights higher up until I see how she's taking off in height. I would rather she does not reach more than 20" ...for a few reasons. Another thing I'm going to do differently this grow.... In my Amnesia XXL grow, I played with her watering PH values during her first two weeks of germination and vegetation. I watered her at values of PH 5.8X-6.1, trying to bring the PH of the medium down. In my reading, plants are able to uptake nutrients at different PH levels. With this grow - I will be watering her in a PH range of 6.6 to 6.1 from start to finish.

I didn’t take pictures before defoliation but these pics are from after the fact So you can only imagine. So many bud sites she should be stacked!!! The game plan is to move her into a 5 gallon once I get a chance this week. Glacial, 2-8-4 and some kelp meal will be used.

11/20/23 - Day 14 - Today the box flipped to Veg state. I made the decision in the software yesterday, its take effect the next day at the light on schedule. The system will do a couple of things now that it's in Vegetative mode. Lights will remain at 18Hrs On/6hours Off, however the intensity will slowly creep from 30% intensity to 100% within a couple of days. Air Temp will remain the same at 79deg. F Humidity will go down to 50% Water temp and PH will remain the same, 64.5deg. F and 6.0Ph Because I have it all hooked up for Auto water. It started the first video about 1 min after lights on. It drained the water, refilled it. After it refilled it, it turned on the air stone, started the water temp cool down, and it slowly over the next 30 minutes delivered nutes, and finished it off with balancing the PH. All of this was done on its own. I DID NOTHING. Other than verify because why not. I sat back and watched the system work. This time around with everything hook up for auto I really am not doing much. The hardest part of this grow so far is not opening the door while the light is off. the rest of the week I don't expect to do much. I will update daily with pictures and things that I am noticing. This is an Auto strain. I am a little worried about growing an Auto in this box. usually, I can control the growth utilizing the lights because I'm space limited. This time the plants going to flip to flower on its own. I'll need to make sure I am training and cropping early on. 11/24/23 - Day 18 - Everything is starting to get aggressive in there. I say that because the new nodes are growing out of new nodes on the top. It's like its packed full of plant and it all wants to come out at the same time. The leaves have more serrated Leafs than I have seen on any of the other strains I have grown. Ill post a picture of the last time I grew this strain. I did it in Coco Coir. It will be cool to see the differences. 11/25/23 - Day 19 - The Leaves are all reaching up, and the plant is growing so fast! Its such a bushy plant.

Noticing trichomes more than ever. From what I’ve read the last two weeks are when buds start to swell up. Let’s hope that’s the case lol I really pushed the ppm’s this week only because I accidentally let her go over 1000 ppm’s during this week. I would have never have done that but she let me know she was ready for a full dose of nutes. Today is D81 and I’m expecting she will go over one hundred days. We shall see... thanks for listening!
