Left alone for a week in autopot. Lack of nutrients :(

Day 36. One girl is shooting the sky other still have that unhealthy look, made my mind - its genetics and i can't do anything. Girls got second feed, looks happy and hopefully will bring some nice flowers. Took some leaves down, spread a bit, but most of work will be done next week, if i will dare ;))) Last time used Root Juice, added Acti-Vera, increased Bloom and Heaven. Day 40. After last feed, girls got small rusty spots on 4-5 leaves total, cut out cal mag for couple weeks. Heavy training, its always tricky to decide what to do with Autos and i have almost no knowledge, but i have SPA Queen and Midget aka Margaret ;))) both different, but bushy, had to clear Midget really heavily and still loads future airbuds left, but maybe ... ;))) Girls drink 3 liters every day, highest rate ever, but i relate it to most powerfull exhaust ever. Some leaves on both plants got strange mutation, like leaf tries to branch out ... Never seen anything like this. But by height i presume it happend on first feed, late Root Juice aftermath ? Switched from acti-vera to bio-grow to trigger flowering. The autoflower is already showing pistils.

Nice growth but it does look like this one is going to be a thirsty girl. She already wants some additional nitrogen. I topped every bud site on every plant, both indoors & outdoors.

This weeks update! Grow tent- so I had a buddy do my res change I talked him through the whole process couldn’t make it to the grow this week. Number and everything where perfect but!. He didn’t close the valve all the way to the blue dream res tank and left the drain pump on🤦‍♂️🏾. So when I got there this week leaves where curling and brown thought it might be a nutrient issue. Opened the res to check it. And there was only about a gallon of water in there out of the usual seven. No major harm I was planning on doing my last defoliation to her this week anyway. But that could have been bad. They are both receiving half strength nutes of the ripening mix GH recommends. Would have been a perfect week if not for that. No harm no foul tho. But def bout to start pushing them on the flower nutes and get back up to my 1000 ppm range buy adding extra bloom formula! #Staykited

The grandaddy black is looking happy. Will be switching them to flower in a week or less. I gave them a flush and fresh nutrients. The humic acid really makes a huge difference in the uptake of nutrients. I am at about half dose on nutrients compared to what I would have to feed without it. Winter is approaching and bringing the low humidity with it. All of the humidifiers I have tried either dont work or I have to constantly refill the tank. So I decided to use my redneck engineering skills to throw this humidifier together. It holds 4 gallons of water and she pumps like a freight train. I have dubbed her the Steam Queen. I got 2 cool mist foggers that put out about 400ml per hour each and used some things I had around to make them a little float. Added an old computer fan to force the mist out through a 2 inch pipe. She won't win any beauty contests but she pumps out plenty of cool moist air. I also upgraded my exhaust to a variable speed for more added environmental control. Just going to do a little more training over the next week then try to make some buds.

There is not much to tell this week :) A few came to the flowering tent, 2 are still in the vegi phase for 2 days and then come last to the flowering tent :-) The Blue Cheese and the Kosher Tangie Kush smell very good and how they should 😍👍 It will be difficult to choose 2 mums :-). I love this auto so much! I’m scared to defol her at this stage don’t want to trigger any stress until the buds are more formed! But all in all I think I’m in for a great harvest!! My auto training is complete! I know what I’m doing with these girls now!

Week 6ix behind All week been struggling to solve the “mystery of yellow top” And “the mystery of not flowering autos” Since both coco plants are not flowering in the same manner i ruled-out the possibility of them being genetically photos instead of autos. The possibility that i’d get 2 different strains to be with such a rare deviation is atomically small. For now have developed a plan and then decided to go a little sideways. First, reducing the EC to 1.3 stable instead of trying to push the plants to the limit. This means a little less that 1/2 of the recommended dosage by the producer. Second, going heavier on cal-mag Keep mimosa fed every day as she seems to devour everything and sit in a light pot. Another thought is iron deficiency but will see in due time if reducing EC and changing watering schedule doesnt help will go and find an iron supplement. And finally, if they dont flower i will switch them to 12/12 but this is last resort, i dont beleive they are photos. 10 September Harvest - see pictures. While some growers leave the plant whole when they cut, I do not. It is a personal preference and situational convenience if your a home grower. I chose to cut large, long branches, and remove any whole water leaves, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the bud formation. I don’t trim yet. This is done for a few of reasons: 1) It’s my last good close-up look at her until another 5 days or more, 2) I don’t want wet leaves drying on my buds if I can help it, and 3) I occasionally like being able to shine a small LED flashlight on the flowers while its drying. Mold is our greatest problem as growers, it can destroy a beautiful grow right up until the end process. Then I hang it in a dark closet, provide circulation and ventilation. Light and heat, anything above 80 degrees F, will start a break down in cannabinoids during the dry, it is ideal to stay away from both. I’m fortunate that a humidity level of 50- 55% and temperature of 65-70 degrees F is fairly consistent and easy to maintain. Anything below 60 degree F will prevent the adequate drying out of chlorophyll. Almost all my flower routinely take 5-7 days, some a little longer, to properly dry out. 15 September Trim - see pictures. First you’ll notice the buds have shrunk up to half their original size. This is just a fact that we growers have to deal with. Due to evaporation without uptake of water, it takes about 3 days for the chlorophyll to dry up, then slowly go through a chemical change. Along with the leaves, cannabinoids also begin a chemical change after 3 days called decarboxylation. A slow process where the THC level increases while curing. You want the leaf to be dry so they can be hand trimmed easily, but you do not want that bud so dry that it starts to fall apart in your hand. Try to handle carefully by the main stem to avoid touching the bud all together. A lot of these cut leaves will be covered with trichomes, good for making oils, or other products, it’s an option worth looking into keeping it. After trimming, I do separate a few premium flowers for my first smoq. Then loosely fill wide mouth quart mason jars with about 1 oz/28 gr of product per jar. I seal the lids for a few hours to determine what relative humidity they are at, see hygrometer pic, before making a decision to put in a 62% humidity control pack of my choice or to wait, then place in secure in a cool dark place with stable humidity and temperature. It is very important to then observe/burp or exchange the air as needed, up to several times a day, until 62% rh is achieved. Once your close to to your mark, put in your desired RH level control terpene shield. If you have a problem getting there: 1) it has dried out too much, no real solution, try to put several large cut stems left over from harvest into the jars with the buds to try and increase humidty, 2) it has not dried out enough, in this case no problem, just remove and dry out a little more. This is also a personal choice, some people like it drier in the 50% plus range. Whatever you do, research and preserve. At that time burping is no longer required. Cannabis will reach its peak potency potential at about 40 or so days into the cure. The finished product should be a perfect grind when cured correctly without clogging up your grinder, this could take a month. Now that I’ve said that, I’m sure someone has grown something that they have not been able to grind. It can remain in this state for an easy 6 months with little change, locking in all the terpenes and potencies. All you need to do is occasionally check the product to ensure there are no molds. If your grow/harvest/cure techniques are good this should not be an issue. It would not be uncommon to find many cannabis strains will last, with small degradable change, for up to one year after being stored this way. Using an airtight glass container, controlled relative humidity, maintained low temperature, and kept in darkness will equal maximum shelf life. Always avoid direct sunlight and temperatures above 80 degrees F. The reasons I’ve ultimately chosen Deep Water Culture as a grow medium. Each has their own pros and cons indeed. I found the most efficient, less maintenance and ideal solution for my situation was DWC. Burdens to overcome depend on size up set-up; initial equipment cost, size of containers, ph monitors, air pumps, type of water to use-reverse osmosis, RO cost/set-up/maintenance, ways to transfer/change water and nutrients, what nutrients to use and schedules, takes several grows to learn and understand, a 1 year learning curv, easy to nutrient burn. The Benefits of growing in water; no dirt, no bugs, no diseases, rare nutrient deficiencies/toxicities, steady and rapid growth that enables the plant to reach its genetic potential. After harvest, there is about a 1 hour equipment cleanup, sterilization and turn around process before replanting. Cannabis will perform in so many different ways and mediums, no one way is the best and the best way is the one you are using, right. Chose what works for you in the long run. There will always be an initial cost in set-up. My advice if one were in need to cut corners, I would not recommend cheap lights. This single factor is the most critical, afford for the best. The notion that organic and water has a different taste, flavor and potency effect is absolutely debatable. The more we learn the better we grow and experience is always the best teacher. This is what works for me and my methods of growing in general from beginning to end. A BIG “Thank You” to everyone who stopped by to take a look. My next diary will start at the beginning of October 2023 with a Forbidden Runtz Auto. There will be minor differences during the grow. I enjoy Auto strains simply by what can be achieved in a short time. No matter the strain they will unveil one thing in common, the demand for attention. Many times over it is the anecdotal gardener that surmount plant scientist. Last should I mention, do not forget to stop and enjoy the fruits of your labour...

Start of week 5... Looking back at the first few weeks of veg, i never imagined that they would thrive this good in week 5 already! (Look back at week 1+2 for horror pictures) Whole of week 4 i worked on my climate control automation. I will keep the set up for atleast a week. 👽👉26/9 Big LST day. I got new supplies to manage the rest of the ladies properly. Topped another one ( 5/6 is topped) Cut just a couple of leaves. The crusty ones that did not receive light and the ones casting shadows over my lovely budsights. 👽👉27/9 Waterday* and recovery 2ml/L Bio heaven + fish mix / 6.4 PH 1.68 ECLetting them recover Humidity a bit higher during night because of watering, turned the temp up to match the VPD. 👽👉28/9 They look content, humidity a bit higher during night because of watering. 👽👉29/9 I am happy how you thrive, but they need some pruning/defoliation as soon as they have recovered from the stress training. 👽👉30/9 Did some defoliation, decided to flip to flower after their recovery. 👽👉1/10 They had a case of empty humidifier, resulting in high vpd for 7hours. Water day* 2.1xml/L Bio heaven + fish mix / 6.2 PH 1.75 EC 👽👉2/10 They look great, healthy and happy! Climate is back on point

Hi everyone 🤗 This week the two Kosher Tangie Kush were harvested by Amsterdam Genetics 😍. extremely good phenotypes. The blue cheese pheno 2 and 3 were placed in the darkroom according to the video. These were harvested yesterday, from which the pictures will come in the next update :-). All others need 2-3 weeks. I wish you lots of fun with the diary, stay healthy 🙏🏻 and let it grow 🌱

The buds get bigger and bigger ... The perfume, even if contained for the low humidity, is beautiful sweet mixed to that similar to the resin of the conifers. as I had foreseen, the plant was destined not to grow much and so it was I was smart to start with a nice LST so as to keep the plant low and so to make all the tops swell .. shortly I put the video All in all a beautiful plant that will surely give me satisfaction

Still no flowers, foliar calmag, silicate, proroots. Still problems with Calcium. Matterhorn is unstable genetics!
