Day 63 This should be the last week in veg. It might be a partial week...I'll make the call in a few days. I'm excited to see these babes flower!!! Day 64: Last day of VEG! I set the timer to 12/12 and lower the lights to 18". These babes are ready to switch, based on my past experience. I hope they don't shoot too much in the next couple of weeks! Flower time is here at last! Day 65: I tore part of a main top branch today and immediately put clonex gel and used some clear packing tape to secure it back together. I think it will be ok. I sure hope so! It's pretty much the biggest top of the plant. I don't know if the potassium silicate treatment is making the stalks too strong, but I only tried to tuck it into the next hole of the screen. Oh well, time will tell. Fed transistion week 1 nutes today. Day 67: The branch survived! The plants are stretching nicely and I expect to run out of room on the screen at the outer edges. Day 69: The canopy is so FULL! I'm amazed at how healthy they are and how many bud sites are filling up the screen!

Week 6 update: What up Grow family. These testers are growing fast and strong. Where in week 6 now and the swelling and ripening of flowers are going amazing. Still feeding 500ml/16oz daily as I've found that's the sweet spot for 3gal fabric pots for these. I'd say these probably have about 2 weeks left until they'll be finished. All in all Happy Growing.

Looks like I'm going to be satisfied with the autos and the photos their coming along fine very nicely. I super cropped the one outside and that's turning out fantastic

Noticed some leaf discoloration on one plant this week. Assumed a deficiency of some sort. Now doing 1/2 strength fox farm trio with a tsp of calmag. Also been watering with a higher pH as runoff was noticeably low previous watering. Night humidity is a lil higher than I’d like but the airflow is great. All in all, everything seems good at the moment. Photos/video are day 64 since breaking the soil (except leaf deficiency pictures).

Gonna start keeping progress of my plants here again, so here is the info of this new diary: 11 straberry lemonades from Barneys farm 1 granddaddy purple from Blimburn seeds (freebie) i've been hunting for a special SBL pheno to keep as a mother. 3 of the them have the terp profile im looking for, i'll refeer to them as SBL 1, SBL 2, SBL 3. the other 8 SBLS are not what im looking for. The GDP is looking and smelling amazing too, one of the best looking plants i've ever grown. Plants with 34 days of flower - 31/08/24

Day 77-84 (April 17th-24th) (Day 78) I honestly cant believe I’ve been vegging this long. The growth for almost 80 days of veg is laughable. I’ve compiled a little list of what has gone wrong so far. - I added too much glacial moraine which made the soil too water retentive - I’ve been foliar feeding too much kelp - I gave too many bloom nutrients for a plant in veg - EDIT: DID NOT WATER ENOUGH AT ONCE The plants have been drooping like crazy this past week and I’m going to try watering in a full gallon per plant. I first thought it was from the medium not drying out enough, soil compaction ect. and I’m sure those are definitely areas where my soil mix could improve but the bottom of the container is pretty damn dry. I could actually be under watering despite soaking the top with 500ml a day. I’m going to sit the pots on some plastic sheeting so they don’t evaporate as much from the bottom and water in a full gallon each making sure I get some runoff. I was going to wait until I get my air pump but fuck it, it’s coming tomorrow afternoon. The pots are so big that they’re not fully wetting to the bottom even with a gallon. I’m going to try to water in a gallon every 4 days while keeping the top soil moist with the sprayer. In hindsight 6 plants in 5-7 gallon pots would be the most ideal. (Day 79) Holy fuck did a full gallon watering make a difference. I should have been doing this the whole time. All 4 plants are praying and stretching upward like crazy. They just look more vigorous and happy within a day. I bet they will be even happier with that supplemental air. If things stay this smooth I should be able to flip around day 84, possibly earlier. Got my air pump in the mail today. This is kind of a shot in the dark so hopefully it works. It’s super loud and vibrates like crazy. First I’m going to try running it 24/7 and see if there is any improvement over the next few days. If it does work, I’ll try running it on my humidity controller so it’s not constantly humming and will only turn on when the humidity is high. I’m going to turn the night time temps down to 70f to prevent root problems now that I’m watering much bigger amounts less frequently and it’s getting warmer during the day. (Day 81/Day 1F) Ever since I’ve been watering in the proper amounts I have seen an absolute explosion in growth. I’ve decided to flip today, now that I’m confident my soil mix isn’t completely fucked. I might run into some N/mg problems during the stretch so I will make sure to give a final foliar feeding around the end of week 1. (Day 3F) So I’m literally seeing dwc growth rates now. Plants have grown more in the last 5 days than the last 3 weeks. If I had stayed at this pace of growth since day 1, I would have an 8 foot tall plant or I would be halfway through flower already. Oh well. Good learning experience. *grits teeth* I’m going to put up the second layer of trellis before these girls stretch out of control. Bbb#3 is seriously stretchy and will likely more than double in size in the next 2 weeks. The other 4 are all quite stout and bushy. I’m giving a light, preemptive defoliation each day and picking off some of the lower sucker branches. I will do a full strip around day 21F.

Nice color changes on MF Roy #4 this pheno has been interesting from start to finish! Excited to see what the upcoming harvest and dry/cure has in store!

The week went well. She is getting so fat and chunky. She has a very lemony and sweet smell when you brush up on a bud. I lowered the light schedule to 10/14 a few days ago. More pistils are begining to change now each day. We're coming down the backstretch now. The viedo is probably not so good quality.

I’m going to leave the seedlings in the small brown pots until their 1st node and then I’ll transfer them into bigger plastic 3.5gal pots with 80/20 soil to perlite potting mix. One Dosidos is looking a bit behind and the one with the weird leaves ended up catching up to the Northern Lights, maybe even growing faster than it. All Dosidos’ ended up dying but one and I’m sure it’s on the way out. Northern Lights has had no issues and growing perfect.

I veg them for 10 weeks. The two on each end are Blue Dream, the back left is Purple Urkle, the back right is Grandaddy Purple, and the one up from in the middle is Wifi OG.

Weekly Update on the Runtz 🌱 Hey everyone! Just wanted to share how the Runtz is coming along. She's thriving under the care of the Plagron nutrients 🌿, reacting beautifully to every feed. With my past experience of wet buds drying out to about half of bud weight, I'm hoping that they both come in JUST under an Oz a piece. Going to update with more pictures, going to take a couple days to dry and get a good weight and hopefully get somewhere close to the 64 grams of the ONLY sized Boveda packs I have right now 😇 -- UPDATE - Dec 20 2020 - Cure Day 😵😭 i once again got my hopes up by pulling the classic male "over-exaggerating" and all the wet weight came from the main stems. After 3 days or so of drying both plants together came in just under an ounce. The smell is great and I have no doubt it's quality bud but I need to up my density game somehow for sure. New nutrients or better set up, still very low-end with all my equipment as I've just slowly been finding affordable pieces to add as I go. Maybe more light? Feel free to hit me up below with ideas short of switching to a Hydro set up 😹 I can hardly afford my bags of soil so I definitely couldnt keep up with the financial costs of a Hydro set up yet 😓 Have had a few bowls of the dried/uncured bud and it's very nice, clean, and crazy good for being uncured at this point. September 25 > Harvest at dawn for the big girl. The usual routine... except I shot a time-lapse video this time to play with the camera I won last year. Clipped the top buds first - then the base. Took me 2 hours to wash all that -rinse - repeat. ---------------------------------------- Well this was an interesting summer with this pair of girls. I learned that I don't really need a container larger than 10 gallons in order to grow very large plants (in my neck of the woods anyway). Now when I say large I mean how much space they take up on my patio. I'm allowed to grow 6 legally but 4 eats up pretty much the whole patio. And the reality is I don't need to grow plants that large. The outdoor yield will last well into next year for me and everybody I know. So next summer I plan to do much more serious pruning to limit the scope and shape of the girls I grow outdoors. I also learned that I don't need an inverted tomato cage style support if my container is larger than 5 gallons. The Durban I grew last summer was in a 5 gallon container and there's not enough weight in there to keep her grounded. Once up to 10 gallons you won't want to lift the container much and there's enough weight in there to keep things stable. At the moment I've listed 450g as a dry weight for both plants (updated to 458g final). I haven't actually weighed the 2nd plant yet and won't even trim her for about a week or so (I'll be back to update diary). The first girl came in at 235 grams. I got pretty ruthless throwing away small budlets and trim this morning as it took me 4 hours to take this big girl down and wash her up. That's only because I spent half a day yesterday trimming Cream & Cheese and moving Northern Lights around... and it's been over 95 degrees both days... so I'm ready for a rest. Cannabis harvesting is not easy labor. Diary note > There was a software malfunction a week or so back and I was unable to add a new flowering week, whereupon it was determined there was a limit of 26 weeks at that time... so I didn't add any more weeks after that until the harvest week. When I added the harvest week, it appears the malfunction had been corrected because I COULD HAVE added a new flowering week at that time. I think there's only a week missing. Differences can be noted with dates on the photos. If I had a problem this summer it's because I was too anxious to get going after a long winter nursing shoulder surgery and I didn't pay proper attention to the lighting ramifications when the instructions were there for me, and subsequently started too early. Next year I plan for an early crop of auto flowers to keep me occupied until the proper time for a regular crop. --------------------------------------- September 30 > Trimming and processing complete. I really manhandled the big girl with the Trimbag, largely because I knew I was gonna have a pound of herb on my hands (way more than I will personally consume) and I wanted to minimize my hand trimming. So when I say manhandled here, I mean I ran it through the process TWICE, using about 40 rotations/spins each time. It probably would have helped to be a tad drier, but we're entering a cool spell now and we've run out of time. Mother Nature has decided to turn off the heater... which has turned my Purple Berry Kush a nice shade of purple... but that's tomorrow mornings's harvest... <sigh>... anyway... where was I... oh yeah... AMNESIA... <hehe> Trimbag generated trim on 1st pass = 217 g Trimbag generated trim on 2nd pass = 90 g Trim generated by hand after that = 186 g Final bud weight for big girl = 223 g Clearly, comparing weight of trim generated by hand vs by the Trimbag here you can see the result of my "manhandling". Little girl was in a 10 gallon pot and generated 235 g buds and 360 g trim. Big girl was in a 15 gallon pot and generated 223 g buds and 493 g trim. Final total bud weight 458 grams for both plants. Hope anybody following along learned something this summer. I did. 😎 The trick is to not make the same mistake twice. That's kinda why we're all here. Kinda. ✊
