Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Day 70! They are showing signs of foxtailing due to the light intensity. Time to go!!! Temps, humidity, and CO2 are prime. I pulled the Super Skunk, the Maui Waui’s, and the Gorilla Glue #4 into their light deprivation area for the next 60 hours or so. It gets dark when i drop the Cloth curtain. I also have a Durban Poison already hanging. Got tired of looking at her about a week ago. I will post some close up pics with those HIDs off and some normal light right before i cut them. There are a few more ripening up in the flower room. They will all be done over the next 2 weeks.

The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures stay above the mid 40's℉, at which point she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes, and then let the fun begin!🤪💚 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 7/12- Week Fifteen is here, the FastBuds Wedding Cheesecake Fast Flower has stretched tremendously, becoming a monster at approximetly 6' tall now and should be starting to flower anytime!😍 7/14- Our summer weather continues to be hot, although we do get a break from the heat when we're lucky enough to get some rain which also helps mitigate the daily watering. Yesterday it rained the better part of the day, which provided over an inch of rain. Today, I went ahead and watered in the afternoon, but only gave the Wedding Cheesecake Fast Flower approx. 5g of well water from the garden hose. 7/16- Our weather continues to be really hot with daytime temp's in the upper 90's Fahrenheit. If it does not rain I am watering everyday with 10g of well water. I will also be top dressing the Wedding Cheesecake Fast Flower next week in anticipation of her transitioning into flower! 7/18- Another week gone by and more tremendous growth from the FastBuds Wedding Cheesecake Fast Flower which has me more excited about this strain than ever. I'm already looking out for the next sweet tiny pot, and recommend you to do so as well, if you have enough time. 😎 It's rewarding, you can learn a lot, and shoot nice pics with nice stories. 🐟 💨 It was maybe lucky coincidence that there were so many holes, so that the roots culd air-prune themselves all the time. 🙏 I watered three times a day, and the sweet smell was my companion. ❤️ It was a bit tough to chop my fish in the end. Sniff. But well, thanks for the great time!! 😘

07/28: début de pré-flo je vais tester bactohemp avec c'est acide humique etc dans le prochaine arrodage/engraissage .... #29 07/29: 1L *avec une cuillère à thé de bactohemp. Espérons que ce première arrosage de 1L vas régler mon problème hydrique... prochaîne arrosage avec runoff. J'ai ajouté des tuteur pour que le plants donne plus d'énergie à faire grossir les buds que à porter leurs poids #30 07/30: bactohemp a eu un effet bénéfique il me semble que les sites floraux se mettent déjà a grossir :) #31 08/01: premier arrosage de 3L*engraisser avec "runoff" :), l'étape la plus stressante a mon gout quand grow des autoflo en indoor #33 08/03: grosse défoliation aujourd'hui #35

Week 15 / 6th week in bloom :) One more week done, and even closer to harvest! Both my girls are looking great and starting to smell quite strong, I just love it!

Growdiaries is really king, and so sick to monitor your plants with every single small detail. Dry Day 1: humidity level 45-55 Dry Day 2 : 48-56 Dry Day 3:44-52 Dry Day 4: 50-53 Dry Day 5: 45-51 Final weight 96 grams! A bit more light would have improved alot i think and better training, but a fun learning full experience More info comes along like the days do;)000

End of Week 9 (Second week of flower) Increased the CO2 to 1300ppm and the ladies have stopped stretching. The main top-sites are starting to form buds. I defoliated a few fan leaves again because the fan leaves are growing so fast and blocking bud sites I also gave a cup of worm castings as a top-up to each pot to give the microbes a boost and it replenishes vital minerals to the soil. Pest Report: None

Hey hey growmies! another longer week, as I wanted to show these girls bouncing back from some problems I ran into with my Kratky experiment. about halfway through the week my plants started drooping and showing signs of overwatering, my guess is either the plant outgrew her air roots or the reservoir was too hot, inhibiting the plants ability to take up oxygen. either way, a quick peek at the roots showed some very healthy looking noodles, so I decided to not take any chances and come up with a solution that would solve both those problems. I took a 3 litre container, put a coat of primer and black paint on it to keep light out, then a layer of plumbers tape to bounce some of the grow lights off of the container, theoretically keeping the heat out, some other things I could have done was paint it white, or put some wall insulation around it. I could have also kept my jars and tried some troubleshooting, fill them less and more often. but I am happy with the roots created by Kratky, that's the nice thing about that system, it forces the roots to grow more horizontally, the roots have now created a sturdy foundation for low stress training and are perfect for placing into DWC. so that's what I did, I added a tiny pump and air stone, and for now both plants will sit in this tiny container, The Runtz will be moved to the tent as soon as possible, hopefully before these girl's roots get entangled, If that does happen, I will have to trim back some of the Runtz roots, I don't want to hurt the autoflower. now you've likely wondered what is up with the host of deficiencies the plants are showing, honestly that's just neglect on my part. I can tell there's damage from overwatering, pH fluctuations and even some lockouts. I am more on top of it now, the pH is more stable, the plants are getting oxygen and will recover plenty before flower. Plus I get to show off how hardy ruderalis is, look at the auto-flower compared to the photo period, she barely cares about the high temps, pH fluctuations all she appears to want is more food, so I have increased the ec to 1 ms, but most importantly, ill keep the pH in a range where they can actually take up the nutrients now That's it for now Growmies, Thanks for checking out my diary. 7.21 ft tall, sturdy branches in the final days of preflowering. Absolutely no defoliation or fertilization, the soil provides for all nutritional needs, for now. Maleb is in flowering, very early girl.
