Day 47 ( 10 in flowering): Happy days here in the Farm. These ladies have been stacking up their bud sites ready for the big build it seems. Limbs are nice and chunky to support the upcoming baseball bats , and their general health and colour is looking good. I have the rh at 70% and will lower that soon to encourage some oil. The Los girl is flying with very little input needed. She will get a top dress of charge, life cycle and watered in with biosys tea on her next feed. The Coco Mc girls are vibrant and a beautiful green colour so should be powerhouses for the bud stacking. I do want to defoliate a bit but will wait a little longer while they still sort their stretching out. All the budsites are able to get light so their bushiness isnt an issue yet.! .I think they will go to another 5 weeks before harvest though which gives them ample time to pack in those buds. Started the week with a NFTG Mid flower feed. Today will be Day 64. Getting close to Harvest Day. Let me tell you. The smell was unexpected stink up the place and outside the grow tent as I come home. I also clean the bottom up little more and removed the dead 🍁. I use Cha Ching on Week 9 and on Week 10 will be the flushing week. Stay tune!

Placed three purple punch auto flowers from Royal queen seeds. Two of three germinated. So 66% success rate. Three days germination. After the tap root came the one on the right was fine I did nothing. At five days I started 1/4 tsp grow big and 1/2 tsp big bloom staying under 200 ppm. The one on the left had trouble penetrating the sponge so I cut the sponge lengthwise and stretching the root down straight. Afterwards the tap root got better and stronger.

Day 43, 22.05.2024 - Gave a round of drinks to the ladies - they were thirsty! - installed a De-Humidifier: I've had some trouble to bring down humidity during night time. It was stuck at around 68% and I do not want to give mold a chance - especially in the later flower which is about to come - the buds are getting darker - also found a fan leave which shows a yellow color. I understood that this is quite normal at this stage as the plant begins to suck the Energy of the lower leaves which it does not really need anymore. I guess tomorrow I will remove the leave in question and be done with it. Day 44, 23.05.2024 - Hacked the De-Humidifier to connect it to my already installed VPD Controller: When the humidity rises above a special threshold (depending on the temperature) from now on the Tube Vent, the Intake Fan and the De-Humidifier will lower the humidity. Bye bye never ending Tube Vent running an hello snappy reaction to rising moisture! Day 45, 24.05.2024 - Realized: This 30€ De-Humidifier is useless :). Deinstalled it and will send it back where it came from - although it would be time for a drink the soil is not dry enough yet. So I decided to postpone until this evening or even tomorrow - Decided to give water with nutrients today - right after watering I recognized brown tips on two leaves. According to my research it could be a) nutrient burn b) light burn or c) Zinc deficiency or of course d) nothing at all and to be ignored :). I will wait for 1-2 more days and see how it evolves. "No panic" I guess... Day 46, 25.05.2024 No action today. Day 47, 26.05.2024 - time for another round of drinks! I will cut down the ration to 50% (1.5ml/L BioGrow, 1.5ml /LBioBloom, 0.5ml/L Top Max) though to hopefully counter the slight burn on the tips of some leaves. If it recovers well I will possibly continue giving full bloom fertilizer, but only half grow fertilizer. Each gets 600ml (15% of pot volume) - Removed 2 bigger leaves from the bottom, that we're getting yellow - bought a pocket microscope to start checking on trichomes. I know: a little early in the game, but it is a bit tricky to get a good look so I guess starting early does not hurt Day 48, 27.05.2024 No action today. Day 49, 28.05.2024 - Gave 600ml water each plus a little shortened nutrition: full bloom & top max fertilizer, but only 1/3 of grow. - removed a single leaf that looks weird (all yellow, see picture). It is the only leave of that kind, the others look more or less okay. This concludes week 7. 3-4 weeks more to come.

July 26: very nice flowers forming on Sunday Punch EV after two weeks of force flowering. Will continue doing that for at least another week. Did a fourth lazy compost tea. See video explainer how I make it using blackstrap molasses and Epsom salts, both of which are cheap at the grocery store. July 29: sunny and nice today. July 31: defoliated lower fan leaves and small bud sites that won’t mature in time. Directs the plant’s energy to the bigger buds up top. Aug 1: Added another top dressing of malted barley and Power Bloom as the plants seem to be a bit P deficient. There is a blue-ish tint to the leaves and another plant is showing reddish petioles (leaf stems) both of which are signs of P deficiency. More 50:50 barley and Power Bloom should work. Otherwise she looks great.

This week the new growth of the plants transitioned from looking relatively healthy to droopy and yellowed. I wasn't sure what the issue was at first and thought it might be light stress. After more research, I determined that I had what looked very much like a zinc deficiency, which is almost always a symptom of over-watering, which is the most common mistake for new growers, i.e. "Me". I had assumed that adding a good amount of perlite to my soil and using smart pots would prevent me from running in to any drainage issues but I guess not. I was up to 1.5 liters per plant when I realized that it was too much. I also realized I was misreading my syringe which I use to mix nutrients, and that i had been giving only 1/10 of the liquid nutrients that I thought. I'm super embarrassed about the mistake but I'm going for full transparency here, so there it is. Course correction takes places after day 31.
