New week

This week I inoculated the room leaves and plants with Neoseiulus cucumeris, I have had minor thrip problems all summer, Usually I use lady bugs to combat them but none have been available this year. I inoculated the plants by shaking the bottle full of Cucumeris and bran over the leaves. I will do this a few times before pre flowers show. Cucmeris are predatory mites that eat the thrip larvae. And are supposed to work for spider mites as well. I added the scrog nets to the room and began training the plants through them. I then flipped the lights over to 12 and Initiated pre flower. All vegetative growth was very vigorous. The goal of this grow is to do a preliminary test to begin to determine if Mycelium provides any additional benefits to Cannabis when allowed to colonize in super soil before being added to bottom layer of the pot. The Process: 1) 8 weeks Prior to Germination Super Soil is mixed (see super Sub cools super soil recipe further down the page) and added to spinning two part composter, water is added and the super soil mix is allowed to break down for a week. 2) 7 weeks Prior To germination 1L of colonized mycelium is added to each side of composter. Mycelium is now allowed to colonize the super soil. 3) After 8 weeks total the Mycelium has had enough time to colonize throughout the super soil mix and is ready to be added to the bottom 1/3rd of the pots. Hey now! So after 8 days of drying, and 6 days of curing, I just tried the Sour Diesel in a glass water pipe, and she is freaking amazing. She burns nice and slow, with thick clouds of smoke, and tastes exactly like she should, like a sour/citrus/fuel with a very nice aftertaste. I ended up with less than 20% of wet weight, but I am so ecstatic with the quality, I could freaking care less! I have a fantasy football draft on Saturday night, and I can't wait for the rest of my league to sample her! I had so much fun with this grow, from constructing the watering/draining system, to learning more about photography and video, to meeting everyone in this community, and finally to smoking Nugs that I actually grew! Giorno 2 Molto molto appiccicosa e molto profumata, le cime sotto non sono ancora tanto piene ma i pistilli stanno iniziando a maturare in quantità. Il taglio è fissato a 1 settimana e mezzo da adesso per la parte superiore più matura della pianta, e la parte inferiore rimarrà una settimana in più a maturare.

We are watching trichomes every day and it looks like it is almost ready so we are thinking of harvesting next week. It is already possible to see some amber trichomes. Unfortunately it seems that we are not going to harvest the expected amount, the buds were not very dense and fat, apparently the buds are just small leaves with trichomes.

The plant grows magnificently. 14.5. watering 600ml 16.6. topped

Well it's dry and cureing in jars. I ended up with 78 grams of dry sticky buds. Growing this cultivar was a breeze! I mailined her for 8 main kola's and I would say that it was a success. I did however end up with more larf than I would have liked, but I'll be using that for fresh flower rosin in my Rosineer press. This particular pheno did not like her nutrients above a mild strength at all !!! I did flush her 3 times during her life and with good results. The first was to clean and build up of veg nutrients , primarily nitrogen. And the other two times were during flower. I wanted a good transition into flower. I've had a bad habit of thinking that a super dark green plant is what I want in flower. All in all she was a delight to grow. Not to finicky and a forgiving strain imo.

Great week. Plants growing nicely. Healthy leaves nice color. Main stem is quite thick, LST was a bit more difficult with main stem. So far so good.

Everyone got transplanted yesterday! They've been hardening off outside for almost a week. The got some Fish Emulsion a couple days ago. One night it got down to 38F, even though the weather said it would only get down to 50F! So I'm very grateful that they're so resilient. They're not showing much transplant stress so that's good. I watered in some lime when i transplanted. I put them in with my tomatoes that I need to stake. I started putting down seaweed mulch which hopefully I will finish tomorrow. Overall a good week and it feels good to have them in the ground!
