This week marks a major chapter in our Mentha de Croco mutant hunt: the second week of flower — and the official reveal of who’s who in the garden. As expected with regular seeds, we had both males and females, and this was the week we identified them all. From the original 12 beans, 5 revealed themselves as proud ladies while the rest — equally stunning in structure and expression — turned out to be males. 🌿
💚 Let’s talk about regular seeds and plant sex:
Regular seeds are unsexed, meaning they can become either male or female. It’s a 50/50 genetic roll of the dice — and with unique mutant genetics like these, identifying sex isn’t always easy early on. Males typically show small pollen sacs, often referred to as “bananas” in their early stage. Females develop pistils, the first hairs of the flowers we’re after.
Male plants, while beautiful and structurally fascinating (especially in this mutant project), can compromise a flowering room if left unchecked. Their pollen can fertilize female plants, leading to seeded buds — great if breeding, not great for clean flower. So, we say goodbye, thank them for their beauty, and move forward with the ladies to full bloom. The males? They’ll return to the earth as beautiful compost. 🌱✨

🌿 Canopy Update:
All plants are now under SCROG netting — not because these particular girls needed it, but because they share the space with other cultivars. It’s all about harmony in the garden. The stretch is beginning, and the light intensity has been dialed up to match — PPFD around 800.
We’re thrilled to see some early floral development already peeking through. The ladies are loving the new rhythm, and it’s clear they’re ready to shine in this next stage.

This lady was a little too tall for me to have her in the balcony so we're going mainlain this lady and let's see how many cola we can make from those little 2 main colas, can't risk to have a plant so tall in the balcony guys.

Well, we already know she's a grower.
Check the difference in the pictures, first ones are the beginning of the week and last ones end of the week.
They're definitely comfortable, I can notice the roots taking over the soil and the leaves are branching out which is great to see.
Next week they'll be transplanted to final 11L fabric pots.

week intel:
we reached the peak of flowering stage and need to cause a little more e.c stress from this week so e.c stress is twice a week
i reduced the amount of Nitrogen and calcium and stopped feeding silicate in other hand i raised the amount of base nutrient and booster
short story version: more K & P - less N
stresses :
a little E.C stress around 1.6 and 1.7 twice a week from this week
feeding:
i feed them 3 times this week with this order :
day 1 : i feed them high with base nutrients(calcium & micros (half dose) + Bloom) about 822 ppm - 1.6 e.c to cause a little stress.
day 3 : i feed them low dose of Top-Max + B-52 around 525 ppm - 1 e.c to let them recover a little but not fully recover still a little stress will caused.
day 5 : i feed them high dose of Feeding Booster around 850 ppm - 1.7 e.c to cause e.c stress again
guide of the week :
from this week we can cause more E.C stresses.
e.c stress if done correctly is one of the very few ways to increase quality in all aspects ( color , aroma , taste , bud structure , resin contents ) but if you over do it , listen carefully brother : it can reduce quality in every aspect so always look for signs and never reach the red line.

Managed to sex out the males this week, especially easy since the girls were putting out some pre-flower pistils. Moved others around a little using my potato fork and now everyone is in a much better spacing. Bummer that 2 out of 3 were males, but that's ok! The ladies that are left will have more room to stretch. I gave them a little Big Bloom and some molasses.

👋😺Hi grow family!! We're beyond excited to try out this new MarsHydro LED for our latest grow, the SP-3000 is INCREDIBLY bright!! ..I have never seen a light more appropriate for a 4x2 tent in my life, we (happily) replaced 3 "600 watt" blurple LEDs with this single rig ( something we've wanted for a very long time). There should be no issue achieving perfect coverage, corner to corner with this light. Its been years since we've flowered under LED ( and never one of this quality), we're a little bias towards HID/CMH, especially my hubby but I think this might just be the LED that changes our mind! We'll be growing Gelat OG Auto by Seedsman (we've heard amazing things) for our first grow under the SP-3000, all plants in 5gl fabric pots, Promix-B (25% perlite) on a 20/4hr cycle. We're starting with 4 plants but if they become unmanageable, we'll move one or 2 of the plants to another tent. We use a glass of water and a paper towel as our germination method. We soak seeds roughly 24hrs and then in a wet paper towel for another 12-24hrs, we average roughly a 90% success rate doing it this way... undeterred continues to grow ... very slowly surely the growth will be 'longer than normal, but given the forecasts is a pleasure to wait
The plant remains very dense with leaves and flowers the dimensions are from XXL, I have not done many plants until now but this is the most particular
I have great expectations ....

Over the next 3-7 days the lady is placed in the darkroom for 48 hours before being harvested and hung upside down.
The trichomes are checked every day to find the perfect time 👍
Watering was done twice this week with groundwater, each time with 1.2 l.
