Ginger Nut cookies & Aussie music Videos Grow Diary update 27th Feb 2020 The preflowering Stretch has well and truly begun with every branch that wasn't tied down , shooting upwards a few inches. The plant itself looks very healthy and content. Once flowering starts I'll begin to add P+K to the feeding regime. We have had bugger all sunlight here for over a week and also we have had lots of rain and wind. Daily max temps have been around the 24-25 celcius range and the minimums around 15 c. RH has been high 67% on average. That is about it for this weeks plant update . Now for the weekly Music videos. ** Last week I posted the links to three different artists who were picked by fellow growers thru the Grow question that I posted asking for requests. ** This week is back to just the one featured Artist from Australia. This week's artist is Mr Paul Kelly who is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers. He has worked with many other artists and groups and is considered one of the finest singer songwriters to have come from Australia. Once again I couldn't narrow it down to just one song as he's had many great tunes but I have chosen the two with the best Music video as that is the main criteria for my Diaries Theme. After germinating on a wet paper towel inside a hanging plastic baggie for 48 hours, all 6 seeds have opened up. The 3 ZHEETOS (=ZKITTLES X CHEESE) and the 3 BADAZZ-CHEESE (=BADAZZ-KUSH X CHEESE) seeds, which I received directly from Milo from BIG BUDDHA SEEDS have a 100% germination result, I love it. The seeds are then carefully (with gloves on and a tweezer) transplanted into small pots (0,25 liter) filled with PLAGRON Grow-Mix. You can see how its done in the video and pics above. I fill the pot with soil and water it a little bit. Then I make a small hole with a finger in the center of the soil. I take the seed off the wet paper towel with a tweezer and put it onto the side-wall of the small hole. I position it right at the edge with the white tap-root pointing down and the seed-shell laying on the edge of the hole. Then i push the soil from the other side-wall towards the seed, so it is enclosed with soil from all sides and the top of the seed shell still peaks out of the soil. This way the seedling does not have to fight its way to the surface, but can grow out right away. Within 24 hours I can see the small seedlings rise and push out of the soil. Some with the seed-shells still on them other without the seed-shell, depending if they were able to shed them in the soil already. The first ones to rise are ZHEETOS #1 and #2 together with BADAZZ-CHEESE #1 and #2, both #3-plants are one day later out of the soil. During week 1 I only gave them little water (0,1 liter per plant every 2nd day) and on day 7 I add BIONOVA ROOTS to the water (0,5 ml/l) to enhance the growth of the roots of the seedlings. After a few days all 6 seedlings have surfaced and then shed their seed shells and unfolded their Cotyledons (=first round leaf). They grow quick and healthy in the first week inside my GrowforLife-Coset and start to develop the first sets of real leaves. This closet is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL and MOST SILENT stealth-grow-cabinet EVER! (check them out: www.growforlife.com ) I loved my first round in it and cant wait for this one. The plants LOVE the spectrum and light-intensity of the two 50 watts SANlight-LED modules built into the closet. The 100 watts of light are plenty for the small grow-surface (45x45cm) of the closet. This round I will try the whole line of BIONOVA nutrients from the Netherlands, since I have only heard good things about them.

AVT is coming along nicely. Especially considering the abuse I put her through a few weeks ago. Buds are developing nicely and starting to get frosty 😃. I kind of dig the bonsai'ish shape she has near the top due to my over HST'ing. There will be no more abuse to this girl, only some defoliation as needed. AVT is front-left in the group pics.

7/3/22 I was a little rushed today, and didn’t have the chance to take any new pics for todays log entry. 🤷 It’s not like I’m not going to add a bunch more photos later in the week. This week we’re starting with the Mid-Bloom, step 3 nutrients on our feed chart. I mixed two separate gallons to feed my 4 girls as usual. Each plant received half a gallon of water with the following: CALiMAGic - 2 ml FloraMicro - 4.7 ml FloraGro - 3.8 ml FloraBloom - 8.5 ml Floralicious Plus - 2 ml Liquid KoolBloom - 2 ml Each of the 2 gallons had a pH of 6.4, and wasn’t adjusted. My tap water has been exceptional lately! Each of the plants had plenty of runoff with the following pH level: #1 & #3 - 5.9. #2 - 6.1. #4 - 5.8 My girls are super tall, and have bodes all over the place. They are all developing nice pistils everywhere, and should each yield quite a bit. I’m looking forward to watching them mature! Happy 4th of July to all of you in the USA 🇺🇸! Independence Day!! Happy growing everyone! 7/5/22 These 4 Ladies are going to be the death of me, I swear! I know you all HAVE to be sick of reading about their growth, but damn! These bitches could be super models! I last measured them on 6/29/22, and was astounded then by their growth. Now, I’m just blown away. Since 6/29/22: #1 has grown 12 inches, and is now 55 inches tall. #2 has grown 11.5 inches, and is now 54 inches tall. #3 - 12.5 inches, now 49 inches tall. #4 - 14.5 inches, now 51.5 inches tall. I had to do some mild LST today. I tied a bunch of the branches on #1 & #2 today. Loosely, but closer in in order to improve stability, and open up space in my tent. Some of their branches have become so long that they are being pulled apart by gravity. I used some rubber coated, malleable metal poles to tie loose circles around branches, and then wrap the other end around the other branches on the opposite side. I also defoliated #1 & #2. It’s not pretty, but it seemed to work. I need to do the same to the other two, but time, and supplies didn’t cooperate. Enough about the maintenance. Let’s get to the feeding. We’re keeping with the mid-bloom nutrients mixed into a pair of gallons full of water. The pH of both gallons measured at 6.4. #1&2 share 1 gallon, and #3&4 share the other. Each gave back plenty of runoff with the following pH levels. #1 - 5.9 #2 - 6.1 #3 - 6.0 #4 - 5.8 The tent was 83F, with humidity at 65%. I’m hoping the adjusted fan helps with the humidity, and I also hope my girls react well to being tied up. Happy growing everyone! 7/7/22 Today, Stella’s Cuatro ended up getting the same treatment as their mother. Each of them were the recipient of some serious High Stress Training (HST). All of them have super long branches that were making them almost unmanageable, so I got to taping and bending branches today until nearly all of their branches had been bent over 90*. Sorry for the asterisk, but I didn’t have a degree icon to use. Bending their branches made space in the tent to some degree as well. They don’t look so crowded anymore, but later on I’m going to have the same issues that I’m having with their mother now. Branch weight! It seems silly to complain about all the time, but damn they are all huge plants! I know that some of you may be thinking that you’d probably rather stay away from this cultivar, but that would be a mistake. I bitch, and moan a lot about these plants, but regardless of the headaches they give me, they are still absolutely wonderful plants. They grow strong and healthy regardless of what I do to them. They develop ginormous buds, and the effects of this cultivar are still my all time favorite. They are resilient giants that produce a lot of bud! The first cultivar I ever grew was this one, DarkStar, and 1 plant produced almost half a pound of top shelf bud after everything was dried and jarred up. I’m looking forward to another wonderful haul from these 4, their mother, and another 2 younger siblings.” Each plant received 1/2 gallon of solution with a pH of 6.5. Each has sufficient runoff except #3. She didn’t have any runoff. The others were as follows: #1 & 4 - 5.8 #2 - 6.0. The tent was 83.3F, and humidity was 56%. Life is good. Happy growing everyone!

July 5: starting fourth week and she is finally getting some traction. The conditions are good for some fast vegetative growth. I need to remember to not over-fertilize this auto. July 8: faster growth starting. She’s bigger than the Chemdawg auto. July 10: topped this auto early in the morning. Likely needs some N. July 11: fan leaves are getting bigger after being topped. She’s about 50% bigger than the Chemdawg auto which was started at the same time. Other diaries have the auto overdose not autoflowering and we’ll have to see what happens. My autos were started about 3 weeks later than I wanted this year but it turned out to be a very cool spring. These autos are catching summer heat and hopefully it’s not too much for them at this early stage. July 12: she’s noticeably bigger this morning. Done with heat wave now and back to ideal cannabis growing temperatures.
