Defoliation is a critical part of the flowering stage, and I typically wait until Day 21. However, this week, I tackled it earlier on Day 17 because: 1️⃣ The room was simply too full. 2️⃣ And most importantly—the Papaya Zoap had other plans! She’s a fighter—determined, defiant, and constantly reaching for the moon. Despite intense training like super cropping, she’s still pushing upward, nearly outpacing the LED lights. Challenges like this remind us of a simple truth: gardening mirrors life. It’s about resilience, adaptation, and unwavering determination. 💪 This week, I added a second SCROG layer. While this net will support the flowering colas, it’s also there to strategically manage the Papaya Zoap. Why? Because experience has taught me that if she grows out of the LED’s range, she won’t finish properly—and that could disrupt the balance for every other plant in the tent. It’s all about teamwork, even in the garden. 🌟 Defoliation was intense, removing nearly all the leaves with stems to clear space and boost airflow. The tent now looks dramatically different! Last week of the plant, she continued yellowing, weird week with huge variations of conditions when the sun hits directly, but generally cold temperatures are here, specially at night, and high humidity, we are having a rainy week, it rained every 2 or 3 hours... Planned to harvest, the later the better, but having in mind temperatures, humididty and sunlight, it will be when im stimating the best day, and finally it was October 18th. after 2 days plenty of sun, chopped the first of the bad days that were coming, in the morning .. Day 77-84 (April 17th-24th) (Day 78) I honestly cant believe I’ve been vegging this long. The growth for almost 80 days of veg is laughable. I’ve compiled a little list of what has gone wrong so far. - I added too much glacial moraine which made the soil too water retentive - I’ve been foliar feeding too much kelp - I gave too many bloom nutrients for a plant in veg - EDIT: DID NOT WATER ENOUGH AT ONCE The plants have been drooping like crazy this past week and I’m going to try watering in a full gallon per plant. I first thought it was from the medium not drying out enough, soil compaction ect. and I’m sure those are definitely areas where my soil mix could improve but the bottom of the container is pretty damn dry. I could actually be under watering despite soaking the top with 500ml a day. I’m going to sit the pots on some plastic sheeting so they don’t evaporate as much from the bottom and water in a full gallon each making sure I get some runoff. I was going to wait until I get my air pump but fuck it, it’s coming tomorrow afternoon. The pots are so big that they’re not fully wetting to the bottom even with a gallon. I’m going to try to water in a gallon every 4 days while keeping the top soil moist with the sprayer. In hindsight 6 plants in 5-7 gallon pots would be the most ideal. (Day 79) Holy fuck did a full gallon watering make a difference. I should have been doing this the whole time. All 4 plants are praying and stretching upward like crazy. They just look more vigorous and happy within a day. I bet they will be even happier with that supplemental air. If things stay this smooth I should be able to flip around day 84, possibly earlier. Got my air pump in the mail today. This is kind of a shot in the dark so hopefully it works. It’s super loud and vibrates like crazy. First I’m going to try running it 24/7 and see if there is any improvement over the next few days. If it does work, I’ll try running it on my humidity controller so it’s not constantly humming and will only turn on when the humidity is high. I’m going to turn the night time temps down to 70f to prevent root problems now that I’m watering much bigger amounts less frequently and it’s getting warmer during the day. (Day 81/Day 1F) Ever since I’ve been watering in the proper amounts I have seen an absolute explosion in growth. I’ve decided to flip today, now that I’m confident my soil mix isn’t completely fucked. I might run into some N/mg problems during the stretch so I will make sure to give a final foliar feeding around the end of week 1. (Day 3F) So I’m literally seeing dwc growth rates now. Plants have grown more in the last 5 days than the last 3 weeks. If I had stayed at this pace of growth since day 1, I would have an 8 foot tall plant or I would be halfway through flower already. Oh well. Good learning experience. *grits teeth* I’m going to put up the second layer of trellis before these girls stretch out of control. Bbb#3 is seriously stretchy and will likely more than double in size in the next 2 weeks. The other 4 are all quite stout and bushy. I’m giving a light, preemptive defoliation each day and picking off some of the lower sucker branches. I will do a full strip around day 21F.

From the looks of my top of the coco it seems like I was over watering. I seem a bit of algae growth, my coco stay moist for 4-5 days it seem like. So should my nute feeding be huge or give them small daily feeding in between the large watering?

Humidity in basement FINALLY hit 40% this morning. Within 5 days it should be 30-35% residual basement and 45% tent for a good residual humidity. The hand shot has my fingers and palm forward from the bud tip, the bud tip is actually past my hand but it's nearly impossible to get a perfect shot with my arm in the tent and my other one far out trying to take a photo i can't see. Fattening up nicely. 1200 ppm 6.4 pH 23 Liters If anyone is wondering why I switched to Blackstrap Molasses I put up the Nutrition Facts.. in 20 grams you have carbohydrates, potassium, Calcium, Iron, B6 Vitamin, Magnesium, Zinc.. and that's only the "significant" nutrients (Human based for that picture) It also contains micro traces of copper and more. pH is quite nice too, with the nutrient regiment i'm on, it finishes itself at 6.4pH so I don't have to manipulate it with pH up/down... Loving everything so far. Humidity in basement was 39% today, SO damn close. Tent closed at lights on (highest residual humidity point) was at 48% ... woo hoo 3% more to go!!! ------ Day 32 ------ Wow. Wedding Cake larger buds I can't even wrap my hand around.. These buds are going to be mooooonstrous. Humidity was under 40% in basement, tent was 48% this morning. Great news for me. Easy day, pretty much standard operating procedures from here on out.. feed, drain dehumidifier, strengthen stems by shaking plants, open/close tents... rinse repeat. Both plants are amazing, great genetics so far regarding bud structure building/plant size. ----- Day 33 ----- 47.5% residual humidity Fed at 1150ppm 6.4pH 23L Everything's perfect, 30~ days left. ----- Day 34 ----- 48% humidity in tent, i'm a happy camper. Everything's perfect. Bulk has started, front right Tropicanna Glookies had double in thickness and diameter top buds of most stems. Wedding cake 14 inch stem I've named Big Bertha. Excited to watch her fatten up on the couch so-to-speak. I'm now on autopilot. Fed yesterday while half asleep, didn't even remember doing it. Thank god I take pics of ppm/pH before every feeding for data. One more feeding this week before week 6 happens tomorrow. This week Liquid Koolbloom ends, KoolBloom Dry begins for maximum bulk on week 6 first feeding (2 days into week 6) ----- Day 35 ----- Last day of week 5!!! This is the week of thanksgiving. Due to me being gone, my heat was a little high around 89 and got higher as the day got brighter. I messed up and think I have caused Northern lights to have heat stress on the roots. I'm hoping that she'll bounce back in a week or two. Resolution is crappy on my video and I apologize for that.
