Well week 1 of flower first day 12.12 light schedule finally figured out how to make changes to heights and nutes on this sites diary, starts todayran into a slight problem with the jack herer seeds they had a rare over growth of inner follisge that developed after topping and within 4 days before going into today week 1 of flower to remove scrog net and re prune they seemed to react differently than other breeders same strain but no big deal cut netting off to avoid damaging during end of veg before plants Garrett to tall which I have the room for just not the extra time it would of taken so we are starting flower and will just grow wall to wall in this 48x48x80 tent

Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. When a species is ready to enter the vegetative phase and undergo its most drastic stretching period, metal halide lamps can be used to deter far too long stems. THE HEAT Heat is another essential element that can determine the stretch size of your plants during vegetation. Temperatures above 27 degrees push the stems to lengthen more and more and will propel the potential of sativas to push as high as possible. Heat lamps that are positioned too close to plants create an intolerable environment that will grow large, soft plants that will potentially wobble until they fall and lose flowers in its fall. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. May the force be with you 💪

Explosive bud development the past week. These girls are gonna be STACKED! I wish every plant I ever grew could grow like these! Absolutely beautiful look to these ladies! One plant is further along than the rest, but probably still a couple weeks from harvest. I truly see these plants going 110 plus days from seed. Im still on the same watering regimen. Feeding every water, but definitely done with any and all nitro for this grow. Feeding general hydro micro and bloom, at full strength, and feeding them big bud by advanced at 5ml per gal. Also, giving them a full dose of recharge every 7 days. They love it! I don't have a single burnt or rust colored leaf on the entire grow. Thats impressive under an HPS on 1000 watts! Love love love these plants and everything about them! The plant that is a couple weeks ahead of the others (planted the same day), the buds are absolutely rock hard! Gonna be some dense, sticky, resinous, absolutely killer medicine!

11/30 - 12/5: The bigger Zenzations has the beginnings of a small apex flower. Both Zenzations continue to look great, but the big story is the turn around the Black Jacks have made. They've tripled in height in 2 weeks and have nice, long lower branching. Both Gorilla Girls are stretching well now and have huge fan leaves, so I think they've still got some stretching to do. I dialed back the lights to 13 hours of daylight on the 4th. 12/6: I fed them today.

These are the tallest and densest in the tent but there is little to no smell yet to them. Trichome production is very good for the stage so hopefully they develop a nose in the next couple of weeks. I’d hate to end up with rock hard frosty OG Kush buds with no smell 😀

What an absolute stonker. I cant believe how big she has got in just 2 weeks. So many colas and buds. The smell is so good and gettinng some nice colour. Still a long way to go, she is going to be a good one.

Candy is starting her second week of flowering. She is doing well and had a solution change today to flowering nutrition. She will get more aggressive defoliation come next week. Possibly some hst. 📋 Comments Zoap by MSNL is a really good strain, very rapid growth early on in its life and continues at a nice rate right up to harvest. From my experience I'd say this was one of the easiest plants i have ever grown. 📋 Data Seed to havest=112 days. Veg time=40 days. Flower time=72 days. Wet weight=990g Dry weight=79g 📋 Smoke report Trimming this was a delight. I let her hang for 15 days before trimming. Nice easy plant to trim. I didn't have any real larf either, the trim is coated with trichomes so I'll do a hash run with it. The buds are pretty damn solid with plenty of sticky trichomes all over them, just like we want. I was getting a citrus smell when trimming. After 2 weeks curing in the terplock groove bags I had a sample (miles better then jars). 1st sample was using my pax plus. 2nd sample was a joint. I'm getting an earthy cherry taste with a sweet aftertaste. This high is great, I'd guess at 25%Thc or more. 📋Grow stats for GDG 22 #1 Lemon cherry gelato=104g #2 Zoap=79g Total=183g Lights on. 20hrs×7days=140hrs 18hrs×33days=594hrs 12hrs×78days=936hrs Total hours=1670hrs Light power=211.09Kw Rad power=415.73Kw Extractor=43.5Kw 4 gang=56.62Kw Top fan=27.82 Total electricity=754.76KW Electricity cost @£0.25/Kw=£188.69 Average light power a day=1.78Kw Average watt per hour=106w g/watt=(183÷106)=1.72g/w £/g=£1.03/g 📋Final word. Considering how cold it's been i have managed to get a decent VPD throughout the grow, I'd go as far to say the extra money spent on electricity was definitely worth it. I didn't run into any major problems and the Plagron nutes were excellent, I'm thinking these are going to be my goto from now on. I combined the trim from both plants to make a hash run and managed 14g of hash. That takes my total to 197g for the grow. Very happy. Back soon. I harvested this plant about a week ago. Gd was suffering some update issues still, but appears to be resolved. The plant grew great. I am impressed with the results myself. Nice big colas of frosty goodness. She bounced around a bit in growing under different lights. The results were great. I was even running the flowering light lower since she stretched a little too close to it. That was probably my biggest issue during the grow. I am anxious to try it once I get it processed. In week 8, she has been growing nicely. i think i will stay in Veg stage for 1 week further before turn to 12/12 because i want her to grow a bit more after she was stunned for a while. i also increase a ratio of nutrients for my plant and i think i will increase a bit more on next feed. if anyone has a recommendation feel free to let me know.
