We're now in week 6 of her flowering stage, and let me tell you, she's looking more stunning than ever! Every time I gaze upon her beautiful fruits, I can't help but smile from ear to ear. How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. March 17, Day 76: As written I collected the last three plants. At the moment I got a partial of 224 grams from the first three plants and I think of doubling with the last three. Among the latter is the plant with the largest bud which obviously becomes my favorite. This time I managed to take photographs of the plants before cutting them. With these last three plants I got the most productive plant, the one with the largest bud and the one with the longest bud 😉 For a final report on this strain: The Gorilla by RQS is an excellent strain for anyone who loves a high THC content and I particularly recommend it to growers who pass for the first time from photoiperiods to autoflowering. You will grow very large and very productive plants very similar to photoperiodic ones. This strain branches out a lot and must be defoliated and de-branched. You can grow it well with the SCROG technique, but if like me you have no space problems you can also use the Sea Of Green technique. First I have to say that I am very satisfied with the total harvest, from the last three plants I got 369 grams which added to the 224 of the previous harvest make a total of 593 grams. I started this diary with 8 Gorillas and 2 Cheese. 6 Gorillas completed their cycle in the same time frame, the 2 remaining gorillas showed a photoperiodic genetic predominance, one of them is in an advanced flowering phase while the last one after three months still shows only a few pistils. I'll probably kill her, and move on by putting new seeds in the soil. Unfortunately, where I live is illegal to grow marijuana, otherwise I would have simply moved outdoors, but I can't and must be ruthless. Regarding the two cheeses there is not much left at the end of their cycle and I started to give only water to one of the two plants. Good and happy growth to all! 😜

So far so good. She’s doubled in size the last 3 days!!

Unfortunately I don't have any better pictures because once I remove the net that was giving support to the buds and they were so big that the plant could barely hold the weight anymore so taking pictures holding everything with one hand using the device in the other was it a little bit of a challenge oh well I guess it's a good problem to have I will update when they are completely dry and cure. I have cut down in jar everything the wait was 105 grams please consider that when they comes to my scale weight i wait until the main stem breaks with a loud crunch and the buds are really dry to the touch reason for it I have a very busy life and at the end of the day this is just a hobby so I cannot be opening those jars many times a day at most one in the morning and one in night so I want to avoid mold on them.so I push in a Boveda pack to keep them nice. After two weeks in jars the send hose cheese has incremented a lot and the scent of Barry as well it has a very powerful High but Pleasant very nice strain to grow incredibly vigorous and with a high yield capability another win for Dinafem Thank you for reading have a happy grow.

Lemon Cake week 18 7/28 - 8/4-10 I am late for my outside ladies diaries updates. Life has been getting the best of me lately. I’ve been packing my daughter’s room and moving her things to her new home. For those that have followed my since my beginning here, Cancer left me with neuropathy and arthritis in my hands. I can no longer do my glass fusing or flame work. To close this chapter of my life, I’ve been inventorying glass, tools, equipment, molds and supplies to sell. The most stressful has been appealing Medicare claims and receiving the second denials on the same claims. They are the last payer of record so good luck getting any reimbursement you are entitled to. My apologies to all of you for being so brief on your diaries and not providing many comments. Photos are from 7/28- 8/9 for both weeks. For my outside ladies, Opium, Auto Opium, Fractal, and Lemon Cake not much changed. They continue to live in sweltering conditions. Temps are in the upper 80-90s with humidity over 105. In addition to the heat, Hurricane Debby started up the coast but was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it got to us. Expecting our normal thunderstorms, I waited til morning to bring the ladies inside. Overnight, we had wind gusts of 25mph. Yeah, then I brought all gals into the house. The photo gals are strong and with thick stalks were able to withstand the winds. I top dressed all ladies with Bloom Soil for organic fertilizer. Buds are fattening up, trichomes are minimal at this time but some fragrance is starting to be noticed. Thanks for the visits, likes and comments, I appreciate all the plant love💚. Great lemon strain. Grew and smoke it before, very nice smell and dence buds, weight update soon. Ok can't be happier 🤩🌴 total weight from 3 trees are 316 gr of rock solid top quality bud. Didn't weight all the bottom trim but that's another 70gr on top of that at least. So almost 400gr 🤩😶‍🌫️ Seedsman genetics rocks hard💚🔥 Total harvest weight of 54 trees is 5kg, of solid quality buds, around 2kg of small bottom buds

I started germination of 2 Critical purple kush beans on 29/12/2020. I pre moistened my rockwool cubes with ph balanced water to 6.4. Made sure the plugs were just damp and not soaked. Using a small wooden dowel I increased the size of the plugs pre made holes. Than I sowed my beans into the holes. Ripped off a small piece of rockwool and mulched it up. Lightly filled the holes in with the mulched rockwool. Than stuck the plugs into a misted humidity dome, to complete germination. Shouldn't take anymore than 4-5 days to see some sprouts. Once I see some cotlydon leaves bursting to the surface. I will get the plugs planted into some 1 gallon pots. Plus get these ladies situated into their home. Cant wait! Some Background information on my experience with CPK. I've ran this strain a good dozen times. It's a very short, robust, and branchy variety. Packs on fat dense colas with immaculate bud structre and trichome production. It's a fairly fast finisher and packs a real potent stoned. She gets very sexy purple highlights and hues. Some phenos more purple than others but I've always got color. She doesn't mind lst, and some good training work greatly increases yeilds. I've ran her inside and out and all times of the year. She seems to strive and flourish in any environment. Just give her that light and watch her grow! She packs a very signature kush pallet and she always has a spot in my rotation! Seedsman knocked it out the park with these genetics.

From the looks of my top of the coco it seems like I was over watering. I seem a bit of algae growth, my coco stay moist for 4-5 days it seem like. So should my nute feeding be huge or give them small daily feeding in between the large watering?

This week in my grow room has been full of developments. First, I added additional lights because I couldn't get the relative humidity (RH) under control. I ordered a dehumidifier, but it will take a few weeks to arrive, so I had to find a temporary solution. I also emptied the reservoir and refilled it with fresh water and nutrients. I secured the net to ensure it stays in place under tension. In two days, I plan to switch the light schedule to 12/12, hoping the plants will stretch a bit during the switch to avoid having overly large buds that aren't evenly spread. Seventeen hours later, I decided to keep the lights on a 16/8 schedule for a few more days. The plants are starting to show signs of something happening, so I want to see how they develop. I will keep you updated on the progress. Then, I received a message from my supplier that the dehumidifier would arrive today. Great news—time to spice things up! On June 2nd, the dehumidifier arrived, and I managed to get my Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) to 1.17! This is fantastic news, and I'm very curious how this will affect water usage. The dehumidifier seems pretty powerful, with water literally dripping out of the hose, so I'm no longer worried about high humidity levels. It's a shame it doesn't have a range setting, but I couldn't expect more for the price. I'm considering ordering the Dimlux Auxbox to set a working range and separate day/night settings. Thankfully, the dehumidifier has an auto-restart function after a power loss. On June 3rd, the night is over, and while my values are now more stable, I haven't noticed any significant differences in water absorption. What I do notice is that the pots seem much drier. The difference in leaf temperature compared to the room temperature has increased slightly, now about a 2˚C difference, indicating that evaporation has increased somewhat. Despite the dehumidifier cooling the air, the room temperature has risen. This is explainable since dry air heats up faster than humid air. The CO2 heater is also running significantly longer. So, although there are no immediately visible differences, there are indeed some changes. Today is the last short night of 8 hours, and tomorrow will be the first night of 12 hours. I am contemplating doing a 10-hour night first and will decide later tonight. After closely reviewing the video footage, I noticed some divergent colors on the leaves. My pH is currently 6.4, which I had adjusted to compensate for the low pH last week—a foolish decision in coco, I know. I plan to make videos of each individual plant for my records to investigate further. The light is too intense to inspect them up close, so the videos will help me get a better look.
