Week 10 done and dusted!!! She is as monsterous as ever 😂 Flowering going well! She is drinking an absurd amount! Probably 3 litres a day easy. I look forward to harvesting her tent-mates in the coming weeks so she can be spread out a bit better. I am pretty sure if she was grown alone, she would have filled up the entire tent. She is a prodigious grower!!

[ Introduction ] Welcome to my first ever grow journal! I have been growing medically for the past couple years, documenting some of my grows on my Facebook and Instagram (@OnlyTomatoes) pages, as well as several cannabis cultivation subreddits. I've found that I do a lot of things differently than other growers, so I'd like to share a full cycle publicly in case I have the answers to somebody's questions. [ Updates ] Day 4 - Lights have been lowered to 18 inches off canopy, dimmed to 25%. They've recovered from both their transplant and their topping, new growth looks almost perfect. I'm going to keep the accidental sunflowers for a few more days and see if there's any significant difference between plants. They all received a foliar spray of neem, kelp, and a bit of calmag before lights off yesterday. I expect to be able to remove the remaining damaged leaves by the end of this week. Day 7 - Lights increased to 30%, C02 increased to 800ppm, getting ready for week 2 of veg. Fed today, fairly low EC (<1.5) blend of Silica, Calcium, Kelp, Molasses, and Tribus Grow in a mixture of R/O and tap water. Very little runoff at 1gal per pot. Will most likely foliar again before lights off with a light fish hydrolysate mixture to help with any nitrogen issues. Any dead or dying leaves you see are from pre-transplant, I'm just waiting a few days longer for the existing rootballs' ph levels to swing back to a healthy range before removing all that unsightly growth. I'm really not sure when I'm going to remove the sunflowers growing in some of the pots, I've seen no negative effects yet. I could flip group 1 into flower if I wanted, the canopy is level and beautiful, however group 2 will take a while longer to fill a canopy. Normally I would never allow pre-veg plants to have such obvious deficiencies, but constant hand watering led to some poor nutrient decisions on my part. They've been in their final pots for a few days now and were topped on day 0 of veg. I plan on lowering the lights to 18"-24" within canopy around day 3, I'm just allowing some extra time for the roots to really dig in. I've found that a batch of dirt that was used had sunflower seeds in it, possibly winter food storage from an outside rodent, so I'm debating how long I will let these sunflower seedlings grow alongside my plants. They do make a good cover crop with amazing root systems, I just don't think that really applies in pots of this size where plants can choke each other out.

overall very satisfied with the results and can't wait for the drying and curing to finish so i can lit one up!! the growing process wasn't that hard until she stressed during one of the training sessions and i had to cut off 2 colas during the veg cycle. for my first harvest ever i'm pretty happy with this little beauty:) day 2 of drying: weight dropped by half. total is now 50g and there's some more to loose 🙈 started curing the buds after 4 days of drying- overall 20g of dried buds ------ first taste 👅 (2 weeks curing): man it was worth waiting for an acceptable curing time before digging in, i tried it twice before and i have to say that curing plays a huge role when it comes to flavors, scents and high (so basically all the aspects that matter). wasn't even close to what i'm experiencing right now. great high, the taste is great with yummy fruity aftertastes. also looks like the volume of the buds have decreased by about 30-40% but they got denser will wait some more to see how curing benefits this one! ------- update 11/19/20 i had the trimmed leaves freezes so i decided to make some coconut infused RSO

Almost doubled her height this week!!!!!! Growing as well as she can. Getting quite rootbound in the cup. I'm thinking she will enter flowering in the coming week.

These ladies are just getting PH water. Checking their trichomes every day and waiting to harvest. The bugs on these two are far denser then what was on the Daiquiri so can’t wait to see the weight of these ladies!! Growing 3 Ultimates the next grow and can’t wait to have those massive colas fill the tent!!

26.12.24: I have noticed light stress on my plants. I had moved the lights further away and increased the light intensity to 70%. Unfortunately that created some issues. Namely severe palour of the leaves. To try and rectify the situation, I've dimmed the lights to about 30%, staying at the same distance, about 30 inches away. I measured the par levels, after I did this. They should a reading of anywhere between 40 and 150, at the canopy of the plants. They are all different sizes. This seems to have improved the colouring on all plants. After this evenings watering, I will monitor recovery and increase lighting intensity again slowly. I am also using the light cycle of 21/3, so the plants have many hours more light to absorb, than for example 12/12 or 18/6. I am pleased with the progress, considering all of my mistakes! 29.12.24: So I finally gave LST a shot, it's probably a bit too late, however I really want to get the most of the triploid pheno, and I went a little crazy and LST'd all plants except 2, as they're too small. I did that late last night, this afternoon I was amazed to see the plants turn their leaves back to the light source. I'm glad I overcame my fear of trying it. For those who follow me could see that I was absent and I apologize to you and the ladies in this tent. These seedsman northern lights are tough. I was out of town for work during their prime stretch phase and all they got was straight water added to the res. Two of them are specimens still and the one without the floraflex feeding cap isn’t getting the nutes distributed they way the plant likes so today I’ll modify one and see if I can make her happier. In the end I know they’ll end up strong but it was during the crucial stretch period and they needed more than they got. All we can do is move on and try to make them flourish. Thanks for looking. I was lazy with changing water for the first two weeks but I change water weekly and it looks like she’s enjoying what I’m feeding her. Although one plant is growing after than the other.

Week 1 of veg. In the books and we have a stable of very healthy and incredibly vigorous plants on the grow here. Even the runty one (there’s always one) has shown some signs of strong growth and we may not end up culling her from the mix at all. Over the last couple days, growth has exploded with no signs of slowing down - even after their transplant to the bigger pots👍. They’re doing everything they’re supposed to and showing that F1 vigour at every step. So far, so good and we really couldn’t ask for a better start to this run. We incorporated a very mild solution of our primary nute this week - Druid Berkana. This stuff is a one part system designed for the whole cycle and its proven to be one of the best all-around nute brands we’ve tried to date. Some light foliar spraying with liquid karma continues to mid week and then they’re all on their own👌. Expecting big things from this run and if we get lucky with continued robust growth - might be able to take clones after the third week of veg and flip🤞🤞🤞. Background This project has been a year in strain selection (and another year in the actual making) to get to this point with a viable potential cross. It’ll be a true polyhybrid with a mix of sativa and indica leaning properties for each. We’ve combined an especially powerful hybrid sativa strain of Strawberry with an equally manageable and hard hitting strain of indica dominant Skywalker OG. The hope has always been to combine them and boil out the best characteristics of each. The strawberry is phenomenal in terms of terp profile and a mix of strong head and body effects while the Skywalker is a mind bending, body butter kind of indica with that earthy Kush profile and flowery undertones. The strawberry is prone to botrytis and fasciation but features excellent terps and yields if grown correctly. She’s Also stretchy and somewhat unruly when she gets going. The Skywalker is a contrast in growth characteristics with a squat structure, medium sized buds and excellent resilience and resistance. The plan is to seed out the available females and take cuts of what we can post-stretch to get a closer look at any differing phenos. Still very much early stages for a stabilized new strain but we’ve got the right foundation of solid genetics. Now we just gotta get it off the ground to the next generation👍. We’re predominantly focused on the plants that demonstrate that hybrid vigour and wasting no time with any problem plants or runts.
