Hey guys! Sorry for the late update, I've been hella busy lately! 😱 This week was good and for that very reason it was uneventful. I did some defoliation to let the lower branches receive more light and it seems the plants received it well. 😁 Matcha still has some weird looking leaves 😰 but I suppose those are old leaves and they are just there because I didn't cut them earlier. Pistachio in another hand is doing great! 😍 I also took some photos of their roots, they look interesting! I suppose they are that way because the root mass below them must be huge. Blueberry Headband as well as the OJ have been looking a little peaked the last two weeks. Red hairs appearing. Growth slowing. Even starting to affect the Cheese. Raised the light from 12” to 24 and turned it down a bit. Also, pulled the plants out and leached them. Been a while and it is needed, I think. Should see an explosion of good growth 2-4 days from now. Flushing always creates a flurry of good stuff! it's always a pleasure to do business with Barney's Farm!!! They have never let me down even once!! Even in the worst situations and conditions they have always been able to bring out the best for me!! I really enjoyed forcing these plants to see their reactions, but I wouldn't do it again as a technique because it only serves to keep the canopy low but not to increase the yields...or...at least in my case I didn't find it of fundamental importance....maybe a simple cut of the apical top and that was it! but that's fine 😉

Aug 22 - Aug 28 Week 16 (Day 106-Day 112) The Low Down- Plants responded well to the Advanced Nutrients I watered with a couple of days ago. By 'responded well' I just mean that they didn't yellow or adversely react. I'm still watering 2 gallons per day per plant when I water, but I skipped a day since I don't want to get root rot. Twice before I have had the plants get waterlogged at the bottom of the pot (obviously right =-) ), and I didn't know then that it caused the leaves to yellow from the bottom up. I honestly thought I had nutrient burn. That said, I skipped a day on the watering. I applied kelp meal on day 111. I broke my rule and used Monterey B.T. on day 111. Honestly--I felt scared because I can't inspect the plants everyday so I went for the Monterey b.t. to combat the caterpillars. Not sure if I will apply again since we are in flowering. The Plants- The plants look great and smell great. Thank you EQuillibrium Genetics. Everyday they get a little more aromatic. The smell is somewhere between minty/lemony/orangey and some bomb ass weed. Will definitely hit. One day I could've sworn it smelled like that Gary Payton weed, basically kushy, citrusy, and a little sour diesely. On DAY 108 in the morning they smelled like orange fanta. Amendments- I applied kelp meal on DAY 111 (Aug 22). The quality has improved in my plants since I started more actively amending the soil a few years back. Before I just used to add that Alaska fish emulsion directly on the soil once a month. Now I use Kelp Meal from Down-to-Earth and the Bud Candy and Overdrive from Advanced Nutrients. I even used some cha-ching from Fox Farms at the end of last season. I don't start adding anything until at least a month or two into the grow because the soils I use already come amended. I also continue using the soil year after year. I take all the soil at the end of the year and place it on a tarp. Then I add perlite, bone meal, blood meal, kelp meal, molasses, coffee grinds, banana peels, egg shells, and mix it all up. I let that sit for a couple of weeks or longer and then start using it on my potted plants in the garden. If I have enough left over after 2 months I will fill up the fabric pots again and plant clover, thyme, and oregano during the off season.

Howdy growfessors! Another week has come and gone with the outdoors grow. The ladies took a bit of a beating from the tail end of tropical storm Ida. Going to build a partial greenhouse roof to help keep the rain off them, which will hopefully lower the chances for mould.

Ended up giving 3 more feeds but have run out of time again. Still not really seeing any amber trichomes but starting flush and hope for the best. Pretty sure I am going to end up with about 3 ounces less then first run but the buds look heaps better.

Smells Strongly like Mintz with a dark hint of peppers

Fed Gh 3 part with Terpinator in flower and recharge occasionally through a drip feed system.

Candyman is now Day 22 of flower! The smells are beautiful 2 smell more gassy and one smells more lemon now. They are drinking a lot every 2 days now, I've took a lot of leaves off and lower bud spots to give the tops more energy the finish line is fast approaching now and I can't wait 😍 Day 26 of flower and they are stinking they smell like gassy shit 🤣 but my last run of skywalker did that and was unreal smoke, so 🤞🏻 Update: Day 78, Day 28 of flower! It's the start of week 4 today and the colours are starting to change 😍 smelling and getting frosty by the day now. Really can't wait to try these girls out ✌️🏻

Hey now, this week went very well. I transplanted her on day 16 and her leaves were praying as soon as the lights came back on. I still have the Spectrum X in V1 at 30% which is doing an excellent job of keeping her low to the ground with nice tight nodes. She is only six inches tall and pushing her 6th node on day 21. I transplanted her into a mixture of Coco Coir and Perlite and set up an auto watering system that is currently feeding her 4 times per day, Once at lights on, and then every 5 hours thereafter until the 4th feeding, then it repeats at lights on. I will top her just above the 6th node as soon as I have room between 6 and 7, which will hopefully be in the next several days. I know some people don't agree with topping autos, and I would certainly agree it's not the way to go in all setups. However, when utilizing high frequency fertigation in coco coir it is absolutely necessary. The issue is vertical growing space if you are growing indoors, as outdoors this is not an issue. I use a combination of LST, topping, mainlining, manifolding, and super cropping to try to keep my plants from growing into the lights, but it can still be tough especially when growing Sativa dominant strains. Hopefully I can top her above the 6th node but that will depend on how many nodes she pushes out before starting to flower but I think I will be fine. I will begin LST as soon as she recovers from the topping which typically takes about 24 hours. I am definitely very happy with this medic grow led so far, I have not even started the UV/IR spectrum but I will be in about 1-2 weeks as soon as these last two seedlings hit veg.
