D60. I'm back again after being out of town for six days. I doubt the Purplematic girl missed me, but she looks great! The flowers are a deep, DEEP purple, and her senescence has progressed, resulting in pretty purple/yellow leaves. I had a first look at her trichomes, and she is getting ready. Most trichomes are cloudy, and I even see an amber one here and there. Won't be long now :) ------------------------------ D63. We're at the end of the fifth week of flower, and this grow is almost at the end. She is fading beautifully, and the trichomes are ripening. I would love to let her go another week to watch her senescence, but I need to move the light from this tent to the photo tent since I'm running out of space there, and this Kingbrite light has a much lower profile. ------------------------------

Second week of flowering and still going strong. I experienced a bit of stretching within the first week of flowering but it seems so have slowed down and the buds are finally starting to put out. 4-6 weeks left before harvesting I reckon.

Day 77 - Chillin heavy! Buds are bulking up, with extreme vigor! 2.5 gallon dosage of the above listed nutes lasts for 6 days, before drying out 95% to be ready for another dosage! (Dry Koolbloom measured as 3grams/2.5gallons)

So this week she has started to really put on some chub. She's frosty like a frosty flake. I also just love her light green. Super super light green. But strong dark green healthy leaves still no sign of stress (although I can't really know deeper than what I can see- she might be mashing for some KNF shit-which I rate all plants probably are). I wanted to use supplements like OHN ( Oriental Herbal Nutrient), FPJ (Fermented plant Juice) and trying to create more living soil but I was just very busy with work at this point and did not get to making the pro-biotic supplements. Next grow I have already made some ferments and intend on making more to aid nutrition during the next ladies that get laid. But Maria's got about 11-12 Big colas, but looking back I would maybe have continued to try to keep the heads a little further apart so more light could break through to the lower nodes. I also think an investment in a proper HPS bulb-reflector would do wonders, I was using a homemade foil device to reflect light back down to the plants (NOT EFFICIENT, or sexy, but ay.)

Good little week, Last week I did not update the diary till a few days after when I took all the pics and videos but it is 1 week apart from last despite it only being 3 days GD post time. Transplanted my little plant #4 into a 2Gal pot, gave it some LST and a 2nd topping and took off some leaves that where touching the dirt after LST. This one will grow outside of the tent and I will get it under some supplemental lighting as soon as I get a box/text going for it. I won't be using my sf1000 Like I previously thought of doing, I'm going to put it under my 6500K Sun Blaster LED strips that I like. the 18" ones daisy chained together. Fun little thing I noticed is when I drilled holes into the pot a few inches up for air pruning. It made a line in the root ball that divides it in two half's. nice to have extra roots, might be a reason to do this on other pots that are hard plastic. Even if it smaller pin hole sized vs larger 1-2cm holes I bet its beneficial for my grow style. Have some before and after LST photos of it. these plants are trippers and can handle some abuse. All clones have roots now as well, that's a big bonus. They came out of the humidity bag I had them in and so far no signs of excess stress. Will keep them in smaller containers till I know what plant I like the best if any out of the mix. Will likely only be going off of looks vs taste or effects. I also might just gorilla garden them in a few spots I know of. I have a buddy in the city who has a garden and does nothing with it. If I plant them there they will sink up their yard im sure and they will love it. Regarding the LST snaps from last week, I have patched up the breaks with some string, its not 100% and kinda shity but the plants are healthy, I have heard some users use surgical tape with much better results so will need to grab a roll of this in the feature if I continue to snap the ladies on LST. Not much going on other with them, they are getting acclimated to their new home, no water was needed just letting them explore, will likely need to give them a nice water in a few days once they drink up the rest of the pots volume. After that will top again and then flip to flower after a week of recovery. so week 11 or 12 flip to flower. To begin the week I gave the plants a lite-defoliation under their skirts, to be specific, I pruned all the bottom fan leaves, and, I did more pruning, removing fan blades covering bud sites. I gave each plant a nutrient-watering, and also a separate ph watering once this week. I'm seeing good leaf growth, and lots of Calyx and Pistols forming on the tops and between nodes that seem to pop up everywhere on the plants. And so far, plant health wise...nothing alarming to be seen yet.

No more fertilization, nice bushy plant.... She needs a bit more time minimum 2 weeks but it can be 3 also. All good just being flushed and waiting for the perfect moment to be harvested. Nice one. :)

Week 4 update - had to list it as a flower week as we flipped em half way through. Exotic wasn’t lying - the spicy bitches hit maturity rather quickly and we now have a guaranteed 2 males and 3 females - perfect ratio score👌👍. Balls started showing in a span of 12-36 hours. One of the females entered flower early so she may be a dud, an auto or just stressed for some unusual reason. We’ll probably either separate er or let it grow with the rest and pitch it. Won’t be using that seed knowing that underlying issue. Similarly, one of the males has also demonstrated some fan leaf mutation - I actually like this kind of variation and it makes things interesting so bonus there👍. The rest of em are doing just fine. So god damned nice to have a run that’s on a quick schedule to finish within 3 months. It’s been a long year for the pollen chuck and we’re really looking forward to the upcoming all fem. Run. For now though - conditions look ripe for a bunch of awesome crosses, any one of which could be pure 🔥. Till next week yall🤟. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatory😂. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍.

This grow is going to be testing my coco based auto watering setup. The plants will eventually be going into 2.5 gallon airpots which I cut to be very tall and narrow which I hope will give great performance for this grow style. Nutrient solution will be pumped from a 5 gallon bucket to halo-style drip emitters 6 times a day for 5-10 second intervals. I am going to try to use inline flow control knobs to dial in the watering and allow for slight runoff every fertigation. For lighting I am using my HLG 100 watt lights, one per plant. I am a big fan of these quantum boards, they have given great performance in the past! Thanks for reading! 🌱👍 May 13 day 1: the Blackberry breached after germinating in a rapid rooter for 2 days. I am impressed with how quickly this seed popped! It had no issues with stuck seed casings, which I find is the main downside of germinating in rapid rooters. I am excited about this one! May 16 day 3: Auto watering drip emitters are set up, and I am testing them to dial in the amount of runoff it produces. I also planted the seedlings/rapid rooters into 1 litre grow bags and began feeding nutrients. They are still under the humidity dome for now for the time being and seem to be doing well. Day 4: seedlings doing well, they are staying under the dome untill they grow their next set of leaves, then I will take them out and run a humidifier.
