Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Ciao growers ... I didn't think I would have come to continue this diary, because, as you can see in the picture, there were some problems that made me change my ideas ... After spraying the two plants (plus one in the diary "Cookies On The Kush" ) with a 3: 1 mix of neem oil + potassium soap, causes thrips ... these parasites have been defeated yes, but at a high price ... they must have reacted badly to the compound, triggering a phytotoxic reaction ... .I'm not a scientist or a biologist or anything like that, but reading online I think this was the cause ... because the leaves would seem to be eaten by caterpillars or the like, but this is not the case ... On girls I had also just done a Topping on one and a FIM on the other, before finding myself forced to spray them 😌...so, a lot of stress.... Well in the end, after they looked like they were dying, they recovered in growth, and now I have done a transplant in a geotextile pot from 20 l, consisting of about 50% Lightmix-3 0% cocomix-10% humus-10% perlite.. As soon as the transplant was done I gave them about 4 ml of root juice in 4l of h2o, in total divided by the two of them ... It will be a diary "random" / artistic/i don't know 😅".... I want to" play "a little bit about the malformation that they have suffered ... now I'm doing some tying so a bit for fun ... we'll see what comes out of it ... for sure they will be very particular .. ... to the next update ... thanks that you read, and I hope you like it 😉... Midnight is a seriously beautiful cultivar and unlike many other purple strains I’ve seen, grown and smoked, this one’s terps are actually rather impressive. Her aroma is a pungent mix of berries, citrus and gas. I love it. She certainly isn’t the fastest auto. We’re at day 77 since sprout and it’s clear she still needs another 2-2.5 weeks. I expect her to be ready for harvest somewhere in the 90-95 day range.

Donna Jo is still being watered; -Tuesday with full gp3 (green plant 3 part) plus Cali mag by General hydro PhD to 6.2 roughly 2 litres - Thursday get PhD Cali mag water and Only 1 litre at most. Try not to water Thursday unless she is to dry to make it to Friday -Friday full gp3/ Cali mag PhD 2-3 litres -Sunday full gp3/Cali mag PhD 2-3 litre -Monday/Wednesday/Saturday no water. This week had a pretty major change not just in flower production, but also decided to change tent set up as well. Changes to the tent included ditching the 600w led and the 2x 2000w garbage led lights (i call bs on manufacturer saying they are 2k) These 3 lights are now out and we have stepped up to cmh 315w. Should have bought this cmh 315 right off the hop and not spent the money on led. Now going to cmh the tent run way hotter and has required other upgrades to keep from overheating. The duct system was dual t4 cloudlines running one in and one out off the same control module has now been changed to a T6 cloudline exhausting with a t4 feeding cool/fresh air. Tent jumped 9 degrees with cmh 315 so had to also add the overheat back up plan. Put a 6” inline duct (can fan pushing extra 200 cfm) along the exhaust line closer to window exhaust point which is plugged into an ink bird plug and play thermostat set to 82. This just helps the T6 do a better job with less noise. With these changes I feel way more confident of yielding a higher gram/plant ratio. I believe if you look at last weeks pictures and compare to this weeks you will probably agree with me. You decide .......😀

Branching Development – Pheno #2 Leading the Race All five phenos are thriving, but Pheno #2 is showing the most aggressive branching, pushing outward faster than her sisters. Continued training and caring for the life in the soil... I'm trying to think of it as growing soil more then growing plants

She is much prettier than she was a week ago :) I remembered that I have my first grow light, which is more compact and it will give me more space, so I changed my light, now the girl's side branches get light too:) I add a lot of video memes, because I really want to win Iphone16 pro ;) and those who don't take risks don't drink champagne:) good luck to everyone.

pretty bummed out the other 2 plants that are flowering in the same tent as these mixed autos both might have hermed on me so i had to chop them early. the 2 mixed autos are looking a little droopy / sad so i really hope they didn't get pollinated. we went on a trip to colorado this week and i didnt have anyone to watch the plants or water them but i figured they would be fine being as we were only gone 3.5 days. well when i got back they looked fine and i only had enough water for the mixed pack plants. i waited until morning for the banana pp and regular purple punch and then they both started feeling almost crunchy on top so i did some investigating and i found a few nanners . i chopped right away and am praying for the best. one of these has some copperish hue to the tips on the newer growth? im not sure what that means im seeing maybe too much iron? i really need to calibrate my ph pen so i can pay more attention to it. i have been getting disttilled water jugs so its usually at 7 and im assuming the nutrients bring it down some but i rarely check because i never trust if the pen is on or not lol. thinking about going organic to avoid dealing with ph at all.

We’re in the seventh week of flowering, and the plant is looking absolutely stunning! It’s starting to show beautiful purple colors in many places, all the way through the buds. The colors are really popping, and it’s giving the plant such a unique look. On top of that, it’s smelling incredibly sweet—strong and fragrant every time I open the tent! 🍬🌿 Most of the trichomes are now a milky white, which is exactly where I hoped they’d be at this point. I’m sticking to the BioBizz week 7 bloom schedule, knowing it’s almost time for the flush. 🌱💧 Everything is going so well, and I’m beyond excited to see how it turns out in the final stages. Just one more week before the flush, and then we’re almost there! 😁✨
