@JiminyCricket,good call about sensor's up is different then below, temps I'm running is at soils top lvl sensor sitting on pots edge to monitor it will the Wyze cam in tent but I like 77 range give or take a few night time for me is 2:30-6:30 light cycle my fans stay on full time( was reading movement in the seedlings encouraging rippling in the stocks core encouraging strength from the start low temps 70 an breezy. If Domes are needed being seedlings are very small a bottle cut in half with lid removed is a great crutch to give it a lil green house effect an kind of aim the seedling up to the light. Autos are so limited on time I think you want to try to have a decent soil/coco temp an times of it being dry to encourage the roots to go find what waters there . Soil meter is my method water in to about mid moist area dont water again ( this doesn't include misting plants an top soil) til its hitting lowest area on dry , trying to force those roots outside . Bigger root bigger abilities.
@@Athos, Thank you for the detailed reply mate! I do have a PPM/EC meter but I'll be honest I have no idea how to properly use it. I'm not exactly sure how to check my runoff and PPM as I've been unable to really find any good videos or sites with info on it.
I use Mother Earth 70/30 Coco Perlite. For the main plants I believe that I'm around week 5 and using a schedule from online. Currently the nutrient mix is Micro, Bloom, and CalMag at 2.464ml/gal and the Gro at 1.232ml/gal. I usually mix about 4gals at a time and let it sit before feeding. Final PH is about 5.75-6.2 for most all mixes I've made so far. Other than that, I'm not sure when or what I'm looking for at that point with PPM/EC, and not quite sure the best way to check the plants runoff afterwards.
As most of my the plants seem to be getting a heavy shade of darker green, would your opinion be to lower the concentration of Nitrogen nutes and continue feeding as normal, or should I flush with PHed water and start again with a lower concentration mix?
In regards to the training, I don't feel too comfortable with topping yet, and I don't really like messing with them too much LST wise being such a new grower. Do you think it would be more beneficial to just let them grow until I'm more experienced, or does the current LST that I'm running look okay?
Sorry for the rapid fire questions, I really do appreciate the response and information! :+1::v: Happy growing and cheers mate
@StickyWeeds, Thanks for the reply! I just got my risers in the day before yesterday so I haven't seen much change in the setup just yet. I noticed that it does seem to keep the pots a little better aired out and the tent floor isn't getting damp. This is what I ended up getting, but feel like there has to be something a bit cheaper and more effective? I do like the space the square ones seem to save. What would be a good temp range in your opinion? I've been reading about 68-75 is optimal, little higher as seedlings? I've been trying to keep the tent right around 73°F but it's heating up to 80°F at some points during the day and as low as 68°F during some nights.
Just an after thought; I'm getting the two Vivosun hygro/temps readers soon, do you think it would be best to keep one at the top and bottom of the tent to check for hot areas? I'm still waiting for another 3-1 Vivosun soil monitor I'll probably keep in one of the bigger pots. What do you think?
