@MrJones, Thats awesome that you still get good yields! Im thinking about doing a similar approach in my 2x2, if anything else maybe a trellis net. Im pretty set on just tying down the branches to the pot when they get to an appropriate length, I've also seen people tying down the garden wire to a binder clip that is clipped onto the pot itself. @EvilStevil, So with autos, I have been doing less training, tieing side branches down, is all I have done here. I used to really put the work into the autos, but any more not so much, and still get very good yields.
