iba is for rooting cuttings. it probably won't help a mature plant.
i would suggest forming a good baseline expectation of results -- see enough variety to understand normal variance/volatility from one outcome to the next... unless you are using clones of the same plant forever, this is important.
At that point you can use some hormones and over time decide if it actually made a difference -- again, must use it across enough variety of genetics to get a proper estimate of the effect. I'm not saying it can't help, but when people try somethign they feel is sophisticated or a magic bullet, they inevitably fall prey to confirmation bias. They will project every positive thing they see to their recent behaviour or choice of new methods etc... doesn't matter if it's rational or not.
if not comparing to a control of some sort, even if informal and based on experience, it's just a variation of masturbation.
so far, in my experience there's no methods or magic that circumvent expected yields per sq ft and the quality of the buds is all about genetics -- both of these assume competent growing methods, even if widely varied as far as what is truly optimal -- meaning beyond competency of maintaining healthy plants and some control over your climate, there's smaller returns from further optimizations -- not saying it isn't a benefit... though easy to show something is cost effective or not or worth additional time/effort even if it is cheap.
There's a strong motivation to be unique or special in this hobby... and it's just way too late in the game... Sure somethings may still be learned through monkey-see; monkey-do sophistication, but our generational knowledge is well beyond that in more cases than not. Just figure a 1000+ people have already tried what you want to try and no groundbreaking news to report. .001% chance you stumble onto something amazing, and that's being generous.
