'buds' and anything except the top layers of a leaf may techinically produce some sugar from photosynthesis but it is a fraction of what leaves do. Maximizing light hitting buds is bro science. It's something that gets repeated but the hypothesis hasn't been tested or failed, either way. I'd bet the house on it. It'snearly impossible to overcome the negative effect of less photosynthesis or less CO2 intake. These are significant limiting factors of the results.

I would cut off the leaves, cover the shoots or shoot tips and the leaves that grow inwards. Look again and again, and then keep the tips and later the flowers free, so that light comes to the buds. Leaves are best plucked directly at the stem, otherwise cut nicely close to the stem, so that there is no breeding ground for fungi (drying leaf stalks).

U can but keep in mind that all the small braches that will get light are going to stretch. But tbh there is not the requirement to defoliate your plant. The shape doesn’t require that. I would think of a lollipop cut after some weeks 12/12. The lady Looks quite dark. But too much nitrogen or magnesium? But the new growth looks good.
