Humidity Levels

Need advice/help on lowering humidity levels in my tent. I’m staying between 60-65%. Inline fan switched to focus solely on humidity levels and Spider Farmer Dehumidifier set that at 50% target. VPD is constantly around 1.1 KPA. I removed light controller for heat. Running 3 fans

Adjust your lung room. I have to run a dehu in the winter.

Raise the temperature of room. 24 degrees is pretty low. 60. Where is your sensor ? Should be at level of your canopy close to the walls. You could decrease the humidity by opening a small part of your tent at the top, over the light. That's where most humidity is concentrated. Try it by yourself. Also if you are low on temperature try to run the lights on during the day and switch it off during the night. The night is when most humidity comes in. Hope this helps

60% is not bad at this stage. If you want to lower it some, Lower it in your Lung Room, or the room/basement your tent is in (so it draws fresh air that is lower in humidity. I use a regular household Dehumidifier in the Lung Room set at 45%- and nothing in my tent- and end up with 55%, which is where I want to be in flower. At the beginning of Veg, I had to use a Humidifier in Lung room, and 1 inside tent. Use the Lung Room to help control the environment.

Make sure youre not watering your plants too much. You can place the dehumidifier inside the tent so that it is drawing wet air from inside the tent and blowing out dry air. Another thing is, I wouldn't worry about the rh too much, get your temps up to raise vpd if you cant lower the rh.

So the question or problem is that you run dehumidifier but stay at 60-65%? Even if set it to 50? If so you need to lower the air exhaust that the dehumidifier got more time to work. If the question is if you should lower the humidty the answer is no in veg is 65% okay but look at it when lights are out it should not go above that 65% even in the night or especially then.

I believe with your setup, and the amount of air circulation you have, 60-65% humidity is probably alright. Just check that that plants don’t have water on any leaves that are overlapping. It appears you trim way too much, but it’s a learning experience. In future grows you’ll want to keep more leaves for a more vigorous bud development. Good looking setup and a good looking grow. I don’t really see any problems with it.

TBH 60-65% is not bad. If you want better control you should treat the rooms air the tent is pulling in from. eg running a big ass Dehumidifier so the air being pulled into the tent is at or lower then 50% and then venting the exhaust outdoors. Fans just move the air they don't lower its RH. the temp created by the light controller is also not likely to be influencing the RH but maybe the temps, but that does not seem to be an issue for you.

I’ve seen those dehumidifiers work really well, hence the price of them. I feel like somethings wrong… 50% shouldn’t be a problem for that thing at all.. are you emptying it 3-4 times a day? That’s the norm for the container it comes with. That’s why most guys use the attachment and a larger bucket. Are you trying to dry out your lung room or is this ported into the tent? If doing the lung room may I suggest trying the tent?

If vpd is around 1.1 based on atmospheric readings, then it is lower at the leaf surface, which is what matters. Reference or calculate VPD based on leaft surface temp, which will be 3-4f less than atmospheric. if that changes anything said below, adapt appropriately. Dehumidifier... that reduces humidty. there's really no other option that will control it. In some contexts, exhasting 'outside' will help reduce RH, but not if ambient RH is higher than your target and likely needs to be lower than your target by a good amount. outside means any other area that can't easily backflow into the room that the tent resides... most likely outdoors, but if the room is mostly sealed off from where it exhausts, it can have a similar effect - remoing mosisture form the volume of space around your plants. But again, if ambient RH is not conducive, this won't do much for you. Always buy bigger dehum than you need - as you should with the duct fan. If it has to run continuously with the only breaks coming when it goes through an autodefrost cycle, it's probably not going to last long. Look at "ppd at AHAM" rating, not "ppd at suaturation" (pints per day) to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Think that is 80F / 60% conditions, if i recall. Other options -- smaller canopy, which ... probably not an option if already in a 3x3 or 4x4. side note - when you lollipop, leave more leaves... you can remove a branch and not take off those awesome leaves.
