Nah I'd just leave her to grow out, even if a leaf is not photosyntheticly at capacity it can still very much perform cellular respiration, this is more important than removing a few leaves will do. Think of leaves as the oxidative power cells , they are responsible for more than just capturing light but also responsible for cellular respiration which is the final stage of energy conversion from carbon to atp. Photosynthesis 10% atp Cellular respiration 90% atp Leaf can perform photo only with light and utilizes the leafs oxidative capacity for photoprotection. Leaf can perform cellular respiration day or night but only when the leafs oxidative capacity is free to do so. Understand this. Understand the differences. Stop with defoliation for no reason. VPD is 10x less effective at night because there is no transpiration occuring. What is optimal for photosynthesis does little for cellular respiration. As above so below.
