I find the best way to germinate is drop them in a shot glass of warm water, not straight outa the tap. They should float, if they sink straight away its usually a sign the seed was already open and the insides are probably dead. I then give them a little prod every couple of hours, when they sink and stay sunk it's a sign that the shell has opened slightly, I then place sunk seeds inbetween kitchen paper that's moist, after a while from a few hours to a day or 2 the tap root should start coming out, this is the sign I take as it's a viable seed and then place this seed into moist soil. After a few days the seed should sprout. Place your seeds in a cup of water, if they all sink straight away they have probably died.

From the picture it looks like quite a few had split and there's a few dead taproots, looks likely they dried up my friend. I'd try a few seeds at a time and maybe try a different method. Good luck 👍

The only time i had a mass failure was self-inflicted. Tap water pH randomly shited one day and i was ph-balancing based on preivous expectation. Of course it happened the time i bought expensive inhouse seeds, lol.... i have fem seeds 4 years ago. For storage, i just stick them in a drawer sealed in a plastic zip lock - nothing special... on 'poor' side of storage quality, i'd guess, lol. I still get 100% germination. Not all seeds are the same, but they have to be quite old or poorly treated to fail. Looks like at least a couple of these did germinate then died. So, this is very likely self-inflicted... hard to hear, but best to review your process rather than blame barney's farm. paper towel method is needlessly complicated. Just do direct to substrate and don't let it dry out before they sprout.

I would ask did you buy directly form barneys farm? Or from a reseller??? can that reseller be trusted?? The seeds in the image look old and fucked. this is not how breeders send out seeds. Wondering if they are super old or got switched somewhere along the path. Worst case. call credit card company and perform a charge back for shit product. They may not do it as its weed. but can try if its legal where you are.

it looks pretty much very dry, did you let it dry out just for the picture or is this probably the issue ?

I don't think opening a diary with 20 dead seeds is going to be a long diary but just think about the errors made before slagging off 1 of the best and oldest firms out there...

It sure looks like an old batch of seeds there. If they just came in the mail I’d be talking to someone about a replacement. No one gives refunds.

Ile be honest mate, chances are youve done something wrong. 20 out of 20 not germinating is just unheard of. And barneys farm always germinate. Never had one not germinate from them to this day. I am gutted for you mate for sure. Have you tested the element side of the water you used to germinate?
