Do you live in a house built in the 60d or 70s in the USA?

Many houses in the USA in the 60s and 70s were built with aluminum wires in the walls of the houses. Aluminum is only 61% as conductive as copper. These houses are prone to catch fire when overloaded by just a small amount. Run a designated circuit to your grow if needed.

Did you recently set your house on fire? V x A x 80%. e.g. a 15a/120v circuit shouldn't continuously power anything more than 1440watts. It can handle peaks of 1800w. I'd even keep it less than 80% of peak for indoor growing context. It's 12-18h of continuous use.

P.s. best way ist probably a AFDD fire circuit breakers… this thing is noticing a broken wire wich starts to melt… Safest way to… a AFDD fire circuit breaker with the right current

The problem with the aluminium wir is that it really brittle after time. Got the same shit in my house and replaced them completely by copper. That’s not the solution for every one so. Deepening on the diameter I would chose the right fuse. Fun fact it depends on load, wire diameter, wire length and the way of installation including temperature. Quite complex thing if u want to do it the safe way. If the wires are that old I would use a fuse already smaller than the aluminium wire is rated under the conditions I mentioned. If u want some help with that just pm me and I can explain how to calculate that stuff. Did that for 3 years of my life 🤣🤣🤣 just calculating circuits
