at this point, you scope daily and react when appropriate. only you know your preference as to how ripe you want it. If new, you have to try different things to learn your own preference.
scope top, middle and anywhere else there are decent nugs. Aim for what's best for the bulk of it.
test light, moderate and heavy amber... can even stagger a single harvest slightly -- just don't do too large of a time range and you won't have any negative effects. label them by percent-amber. keep isolated until properly dried/cured so you can compare.
