More aimed at experienced growers , what is your opinion on seed size. Everyone love big fat seeds and the bigger it is the more store of energy it generally has but does a tiny seed produce noticeably small yields comparitive to thick seed. What's your experience n observation?

I have kept records on seed size, color, shape and markings for over 30 years now and can confidently say, seed size has nothing to do with plant size, potency or final yields. In fact, some of the largest plants have come from tiny seeds and some of the shortest from big, fat, round seeds. There are absolutely no predictors in seed type as to final outcomes with the plant.

Absolutely irrelevant. Not correlated to how it will grow or how healthy it is. Maybe, it relates to longevity of the seed? I could also see it taking a second longer to crack open? Not something i'd assume from small samples and personal experience. The striation (patterns) on the outside are related to inbreeding, if i recall. Some people project positives onto that superficial seed trait too. White seeds germinate just fine. Hollow or overtly malformed is the only thing to avoid.

Actually, for once, in this instance, size doesn't matter. Cannabis can have many different-shaped calyxes, which dictate the size and shape of the seed. I've had tiny seeds produce massive plants (esp the little stripey pointy Thai seeds that will produce a 16ft plant straight up to the sky in four months). So long as it is well-formed and mature, it will produce well. It's all about how the care you put in. Hope that helps. You are welcome to check out my page, where my SchnappleBerry is by far the largest of my fresh load; however, SchnappleBerry has very small grey/white/yellow seeds. That's proof that seeds don't need to be big to produce big. It's about how much quality genetics and vigour is locked in that bean man! Hope that helps.

Big fat seeds may need more energy to open cause of thicker shell etc Dutch Passion got two videos on ther YT Channel about Small vs Bigger Seeds or darker vs brighter Seeds When it comes to size, it dosnt matter cause the inside is what counts, the genetics !

poppy seeds are small. they grow big plants. with weed I have grown small dinky seeds and fat juicy seeds they all grew into nice plants and they also all grew into shity plants. I don't think its a simple as bigger seed = bigger better plant.

Hey! From my experience, seed size isn’t really a decisive factor when it comes to the final yield . Sure, bigger seeds often look healthier and can have a bit more stored energy for the first few days of germination, but once the seedling has settled in and starts photosynthesizing, the genetics and the growing conditions take over completely. I’ve grown tiny seeds that turned into strong, vigorous plants and also big, fat seeds that stayed runty. What matters more in the long run is stable genetics, a good medium, proper light, watering, and nutrient management. So in short: big seeds might give a slightly faster start, but I wouldn’t say they produce noticeably bigger yields compared to smaller seeds. Hope it can help! 😉

Not to sure about the size always but the look of some seeds smooth and featureless mainly small can let you down on cracking and starting but I think once they have there 1st leaves the possibilities with the collaboration of the grower and the plant to create a masterpiece is endless... I like a big seed full of black veins popping out like it's just been to the gym....

If i can offer my humble opinion xD U have plenty time to F it up, also like to give smooth well conditions Whatever it ll be a seedling just have to adapt So... there is no bad seeds, there is bad enviroments. As u know i.m working with clones, so even the most weak and small has grown to a big good one.
