Bud rot or normal?

Harvested 4 days ago. Noticed some small buds were a dark orange/brown. Almost maroon. They do not disentegrate and I don’t notice any obvious signs of mold, but during the drying process trichomes appear to be getting darker. Bud rot or normal? 1st pic bud on the right for exmpl

Sorry to say mate its rotting, separate it from other buds, can you improve air quality in the drying set up?

rot will have a mushy texture and sour smell to it. goes from white fuzz to gray yuck.

Could be the start of gray, bread mold, bud rot. They really like the top bits. Crack the bud long ways see if it looks Hankey

if it's discolored compared to the rest, good chance some sort of microbial cause.
a false positive might be a bud that was pressed up against another and the covered area never filled out with pigmentation due to lack of light exposure.
