Hi all! I'm a first time grower and getting an headache on which full spectrum led to choose. In a grow box 100x100x200 I want to grow 5 autoflowering plants, is a 200W LED ok? I found Spider Farmer SF2000 and they say for 100x100 is ok but I would appreciate an expert confirm :)

With 200W LED lamp from Spider Farm, you should be fine running 5 autos. Just make sure to find the sweet spot in distance from lamp to canopy. Lst will help to make an even canopy.

If you can fit larger, do so...it will increase your yield significantly. A 100 × 100 × 200 cm tent is basically a 1 m² footprint with 2 m height clearance so for that space the Optimal light coverage (PPFD / DLI) Cannabis generally needs 600–900 µmol/m²/s PPFD in flower across that 1 m² canopy. That works out to around 240–320 watts of high-efficiency LED (Samsung LM301B/H, Bridgelux, etc.) if the fixture is well-designed. Maximum usable size/wattage: You can run bigger lights, but anything beyond 400–450W of high-efficiency LED in a 1×1 m tent will either cause heat issues or require very high CO₂ supplementation and excellent cooling/airflow to be worth it. Physical dimensions: Most “square footprint” LED bars or quantum boards made for 1×1 m areas are 60–90 cm wide. That’s about the max width you’d want leaving a few cm clearance for airflow and cable routing. A full bar-style fixture (e.g., 90×90 cm frame) is perfect. With a 200 cm tent height, once you subtract pot height (20–40 cm), plant stretch (60–120 cm), and hanging space for the light (10–20 cm), you still have enough room for a large LED with adjustable hangers/dimmers. Ideal match would be a 300–400W bar-style LED (e.g., 90×90 cm footprint). Absolute max would be 450W high-efficiency LED fixture (beyond that it is usually overkill without added CO₂). A size limit of 90 cm wide LED fixture is the practical largest that will fit a 100 cm tent. Hope that helps

I use a sf-7000 for a 4x4 and that’s for 4 plants, I highly recommend for the sf-2000 you only use 2 autoflower beans, you won’t yield more by planting more seed. It’ll just leave you thin buds. Also DO NOT top autoflowers as someone suggested in the comments already. Start them in their final pot, transplanting causes stress and you lose time.

* accuracy of their spec sheet needs to be verified. a long as it is accurate, the info given is good.

1m^2 is easy math... umol/s PAR = PPFD in your case. So you want a light that can give you 580-600 umol/s PAR production for 18hour operation. Any light taht pumps out that much is fine... distribution of light i hope is a common sense factor to consider. the more spread out 600umol/s PAR is, the better off you are. bar framed lights are superior to quantum boards due to better light distribution. You can reference a DLI table. this is 37-38 DLI target. If it's 1-2 DLI either way, not a big deal. Even with this suggestion, you will have to adjust power relative to local variables. Start at 100%, see how it grows, adjust accordingly. (too tight = less; too stretchy = more) SF2000 550umol/s - should be fine. That'll be ~35 DLI if hung to focus on 100x100 area and reflective walls. If you think you can get a bit more, go to 20hours and that'll be 35 x 1.11 = ~39 DLI -- doubt that will be necessary

you want to aim for 20-50w per square foot. 100x100x200 is about a 3x3x6 foot tent size. square footage of that is. 9 200/9 = 22w/square foot. So it should be good. its on the lower end but it will work.

Hi, for a 100x100x200 box and 5 autos a 200W LED like the SF2000 is on the lower end, it will work but you might find the light intensity a bit limiting. From my personal experience I recommend growing a maximum of 4 plants in that space if you plan to use LST and topping. A SCROG net is also very helpful to keep everything even and maximize yield. Which lamp to choose really depends on your budget. High budget: SANlight Evo Middle: Migro Array 4x4 (400–500 W) or Lumatek ATS 300w Pro Lower budget: Mars Hydro TSW 2000 or Lumenking 400 ECO LED All of these will get you to harvest, but if you are a heavy consumer I’d always suggest investing in a higher quality lamp from the start. If you just want to try things out for fun, then a cheaper lamp is fine. Growing itself quickly becomes more addictive than the cannabis.

For a comparison, I use a 60x60x180 tent. I started off with a Spiderfarmer 1000 (100w) as this was recommended for the size of the tent. I did my first photo grow with below average results but I was, and still am on the learning curve. After correcting my mistakes, I did another with better results but still only average, I decided to add a Mars Hydro TS600 (100W) light to the tent (niether have a dimmer) and saw a massive difference in both veg and flower but I struggled with temps and humidity until recently as I got a better extraction fan which helped a lot. I have since purchased 2 more lights (both 100w each) with dimmers this time and use the SF100 and TS600 in another tent of the same size for doing 12/12 from seed micro grows. Now I can benefit from better growth and yields without the temp/humidity problems. The tent enviroment is about as optimal as I can get it. (25/27c and 50/60RH. I have recently started my first Auto grow and I am really impressed with the results. By trial and error I have found that somewhere between a 150W and 200W is ideal for my tent with a good extractor fan as backup. the SF range are good lights especially if you have a dimmer. Perhaps get 1 now and another at a later date as I did and you will have full control over your light intensity and temp ranging from 200W to 400W. I am glad I decided to add another light and havent looked back since. Good luck dude and happy growing. 😊

Also note how your fixture is going to handle over a few 1000 work hours. When it fails will it be in 2.5 years because you're running at 70%-100% power, or will it fail in 10+ years because you bought a bigger fixture and ran it at 30-50% power. That specific fixture? idk. sounds bad. the light is good, the company is mid through and through, and they're about to be sued out of business (despite already being one of the worst for customer service post-sale). They essentially have the EU version of Samsung stepping on their throats for patent infringement, as of this month this year. So buy that at your own risk. Not reccing anyone else, even stuff like ACI is literally just shipped in Chinese product with fancy labels and a 'designed in *not Chine*' sticker

Going to be a little soft on the ppfd at the edges. Really depends on what you set your sights on. As a new grower starting out its a perfect light. As someone looking to get a extra bang for their buck I'd look more at 100w per plant for decent size and yield. A couple grows under your belt with a 200w will be eventually look upwards of 100w per plant ballpark.

To be honest maye, youve pretty much called it already. Go for the Spiderfarmer 2000. I have a few close friends who have the exact same lights and they say very good things about them. Ive personally not used one but it have seen how they perform, and i would recommend that exact 1 for your needs. Go for it mate get it ordered and put in, you wont regret it.

I would look at something like tsw2000 from mars hydro. Spider will have same construction, i think. Your model reminds me my quantum boards, they were 240W and it was enough. Tried to run under mars hydro sp150, she has 130-140W , was not enough since second week of flower. 200 could work, 300 W and dimmer , would be better. I had 100x100 tent, was using it for side projects, germination or drying, so i speak from my own experience point... Good cheap lights, delivers, no doubts.
