Not ready to harvest yet the trichomes aren’t ripe enough.
Under magnification, too many heads are still clear rather than cloudy/amber.
For a balanced effect, aim for about 90–95% cloudy with 5–15% amber, depending on whether you prefer more heady (fewer amber) or more relaxing (more amber) effects. While they’re mostly clear, the plant can still add aroma, potency, and weight.
What to watch for:
Calyx swelling and pistils: wait until most fresh white pistils have receded/bronzed, and the calyxes look plump.
Where to check: judge trichomes on the buds themselves, not just the sugar leaves (leaves tend to amber earlier).
How to check: use a 60× loupe or macro lens every 2–3 days, and inspect in diffused light, not directly under the grow lamp.
Care in the meantime:
Keep temps/RH stable, ensure good airflow, and keep an eye out for mold.
Moderate watering; don’t stress them at the finish line.
Hold off on the flush until you’re roughly 7–10 days from your target harvest window.
A little patience now will pay off with better terps, flavor, and potency.
