Shortly before harvest, spider mites have spread on the buds. Can I still harvest the buds? How can I combat the pests without affecting the quality?

Hey bro, if you’re already seeing webbing on the buds, it’s "game over" they’ve fully moved in. No point waiting longer. Chop now before they make it worse Give your buds a proper wash, first in baking soda + lemon juice, then a light peroxide rinse, then clean water. It won’t fix everything, but it helps a lot. During trimming, be ruthless. Toss anything too webbed or sketchy. No shame in cutting losses to save the rest. Dry with good airflow, low humidity, and don’t even think about spraying anything now. If you clean it right, it’s still smokable. Some growers press it into hash or rosin to be safe. Up to you. But yeah, don’t let it sit, every hour they’re breeding more. Get in there and save what you can. 🤞🍀♥️

Maybe turn it into hash, the filters should screen out the leftover mites and their shells. They molt every time they age so their is a lot of casts of their previous bodies in the buds/webs. It won't be toxic or anything, just unpleasant to think of or see. I also have not seen a mite take it webs with it when they leave, but maybe they are becoming more polite. The issue with them leaving is they are trying to find a new food source, if you have other plants "cannabis or not" they are now at risk and the mites do cause damage and kill when left unchecked. Best thing you can do this late in flower is let it run its course and get a shit ton of predator bugs that eat them and put them on all the plants around your house so they can not infest a new one. especialy if you have other cannabis plants as they do like them a lot. I would look into bud washing a plant like this too, and then turning it into a hash or extract of some sort, I would best this is the best way to avoid most of the bug parts and have a clean product you can consume.

Let them finish as normal. When you harvest, the mites will leave and even take their webs away with them! Although not ideal, quality/potency will hardly be affected.........the mites suck sap from the leaves not the buds and most people trim the leaves off anyhow and the mites do not eat trichomes either. No need to wash with "baking soda/lemon juice/peroxide".......it does nothing and there is nothing dangerous or toxic from the mites left behind. It is not the end of the World.......... not ideal, but not time for a flamethrower either! However, after harvest, you will need to clean your grow space forensically and if you can wait 4-6 weeks before your next grow, even better, this will break the spider mite cycles, as eggs can not last forever.

Sorry to say my man, shes done for. Get her down and burnt on a fire, sorry to be brutal but thats all most sensible people would do. Clean and bleach absolutely everywhere in and around you crop! Clean and bleach it again and again! Chuck a bit of neem oil in with the cleaning water, heck i chuck aload of neem oil in. Spray absolutely everywhere with a neem oil/warm water solution! Get new equipment once evwrywheres been triple cleaned, dont put new equipment anywhere near the contaminated site, clean and do this repeatedly for days! Hopefully you get on top of it. Always keep neem oil to hand, and spray your plants while in veg every other day with neem. Once you go into flower you will have to stop the spraying with neem and keep a very very close eye out for the little dirty cucksockers coming back to invade. Message if further assistance is needed (Im certainly not a Newbie)
