I'm seeing some tiny black dots.. I know they are bugs but they are so small and scarce. They may be anywhere. Easy to kill but run fast. Are theae a problem? I don't have images because they wouldnt show up...

Think its thrips, despite you calling them gnats. Gnats fly, thrips hide underneath of leaf, could be huge problem. When i met them first time, i noticed at start of flower. Ladybugs and few natural predators sorted issue, but my harvest was 20-30% lower than i would expect. Sort it asap, have sticky traps all around grow area as prevention. Good luck !!!

Pests usually leave marks on the plant. Spidermites don't run fast, so you can rule that out. Thrips get black when they are older and can run fast, but you'll also see little chewed areas on the leaf surface. If there is no damage the bug probably isn't anything to worry about, but an image is essential to identify. There are lots of helpful bugs, so you want to ID them asap so you know if it's best to leave or kill them, but plant damage is the 1st thing I'd look for before panicing.

IMO It’s very likely you’re seeing thrips, not harmless soil critters—those tiny, dark, quick‐dashing insects match thrips behavior more than spider mites or fungus gnats. They’ll bolt across a leaf when disturbed and hide in crevices. Thrips can stunt growth and scar new foliage. Keep monitoring, but getting ahead of a small population will save you headaches later. Good luck!
