Fluctuatin RH

Is fluctuating humidity in the grow room a problem for the seedling stage? In other words is it ok if the humidity drops up and down? My humidifier runs out of water during the night and it can drop from 70 rh to 45.

During lights-off the stomata close up, so it is less important during that time. Transpiration slows in darkness significantly. It is technically more stressful to have larger swings of VPD, but i doubt you'll notice a difference with the naked eye and small sample sizes. could set it lower at night... bet the temps drop too, eh? so it doesn't take the same RH to maintain a similar VPD as you do during the day... VPD should be yur guide. temp and rh should jive together.

it will just stress the plants out but its not horrible i guess. put a ziplock or a clear cup over the top to keep the humidity in and itll create a micro climate for them. also another option is to lower you humidifer output level if possible, so that it doesnt run out. or just refill it before night time. also the plants arent actively dping anything during the nightime and when yhe light goes out. the humidity will rise naturally. another option that i use is put a bowl of water in the bottom of the tent. as it evaporates, it raises the humidity quite easily and
