MistaOCanswered grow question 5mo ago I consider this phase absolutely crucial. Even though the plants are biologically dead after being cut, the process is far from over. During the drying phase—and later during curing—biochemical processes continue that have a direct impact on the quality, aroma, and potency of the final product.
As the plant dries, compounds like chlorophyll break down, reducing bitterness and allowing the true terpene profile to come forward. At the same time, moisture is gradually and evenly removed from the buds, which is essential for a smooth, even burn.
Curing, especially in airtight jars, takes it a step further. This stage enhances aroma, improves flavor, and allows cannabinoids like THC and CBD to stabilize and mature. A well-done cure can make the difference between average and top-shelf quality.
That’s why I don’t see this so-called “living death” as the end, but rather as a transformation—a final refinement. Skipping or rushing this stage means missing out on the plant’s full potential.
