Females job is to get a big hairy sex organs. Males is slightly different, he needs to grow tall so he can release his pollen as highly elevated as possible so wind can spread it as far as possible. The only real difference you may notice is a male will generally grow lankier and longer compared to female counterparts of same strain, that's a loose generalization at best. Make of it what you will, no way to tell for sure till later.

Unfortunately, pre-flowers that start like this are nearly always associated with male plants. Still a bit early to be 100% sure, but it is almost certainly going to be a male.

the pointy thing is a stipule that is not a sex organ. The nub to the side is but a bit too early to be certain. Looks like it might be extending off a twig that would indicate male rather than female. You have time to be patient. Let it develop a bit more to be certain.
