Are these soil parameters respectable? This is the first time I have not used mainstream products

I have been learning about soil. I have been given great advise from community. My approach is Kis (keep it simple) . 50% loam 25% coco . 15% perlite . 5%worm castings. 5% biochar . Some mycorrhizal . Slow release organic fertilisers applied as top dressing. liquid 4 emergency.

KISS is the accronom that I am filimaer with. Keep It Stupid Simple I think your on the right track, I would increase the perlite to around 25-30% though. I find soils compact easily and that can become a problem. I also like to mix in a bit of compost and sometimes Vemiculite but its about the same as perlite. Slow release fertz are nice, also called amendments, Some of them take forever to break down, others are faster. All depends on the life of the soil, its acidity and the surface area of the product. fine powders have much more surface area then small pebbles of whole things like rocks or shell meals for calcium. Liwuid for emergences is Key, good plan.

To keep it simple you sure are complicating things. Why so many ingredients for soil? Canna coco coir with or without perlite. Happy Frog, Ocean Forest, Build a Soil 3.1. All ready to use straight out of the bag. Coco coir or soil will determine how you will water and fertilize but you are right it’s better to keep it simple and don’t try to play chemist and leave the formulation of grow mediums to the experts especially when mixing coco with organics it can screw up feeding and watering. That’s how I keep it simple. Happy gardening

Greenatgrowingstarted grow question a day ago Plonker move , I’m not from the USA . Work out why I don’t want to share all my details. "Plonker" is a British slang term for a foolish or stupid person. Only fools and Horses lol, only people who use that word are from the UK and older than 35-40, The last episode aired in 2003, and was brilliant I may add. Greenatgrowing 7 days ago Breeding question, I want to make my own regular autoflower seeds how small can my pots be? -pushing the boundaries-. I have done many covert micro grows in my teenage years. I want to grow plants for only breeding purposes. Both photo and auto as the F1. I need workable not perfect. Just wondering, what mainstream fertilizer did you use back in the good old teenage years when medical cannabis became legal in 2001. The consumption and sale of recreational cannabis was legalized and regulated on 17 October 2018 asking for a friend?

In my opinion keeping it simple would be just using an inert media and supplying everything. Eliminates any guesswork. Can't get much simpler than a 5 gal bucket and a little hydroton.

My advice is opposite........60% loam, 20% worm castings, 10% perlite, 5% bio char, 5% coco. Mix the slow release organic fertilizer through the soil mix, not just on top. Feed with liquid as necessary. Definitely use mycorrhizae. I do not believe in adding too many or too much of any inert ingredients such as perlite and coco coir.
