Hi all, Has sb experienced a plant starting to develop terps in 7th week of flower or after? at the beginning of week 7, one has a faint tropical/guava scent with a lot of imagination. The rest smell like a moderately fruity skunk… pretty disappointing for a Watermelonskittlez TY

Get over the fact that the description from the breeder isn't accurate or is exaggerated. Just expect it, lol. Terps while it is growing isn't always what you get after drying/curing, either. So, don't be surprised if it evovles into something else. Strong smell could be correlated to 'more terps,' but also could be related to high temps/low rh causing faster rate of evaporation. What you smell are molecules from the plant. If you are smelling it, it's no long on the plant, therefore lost from the plant's perspective and your smoking perspective. If it smells strong when breaking it up, that matters more. plus what it smells like isn't necessarily what it'll taste like. some smell translates better than others. Unfortunately for me, one of the strongest/consistent translating flavor is 'lemon,' blech.

terp prodiction can be affected by a few things. If temps are to high they always burning off. or if under shock it might smell different. I find adding in things like fulvic acids and humaic acids as well as amino's help the plants get really smelly and aromatic. However I grow in soil vs soilless and use dry amendments. These things are not part of the main NPK lineup of nutrients more or less supplements in the grow. However many others have grown great smell weed without these as well. A lot of what the plant does and how it does it are based on its genetics.
